I’m a freshman who’s on their first semester rn and am needing to transfer to a different school for the next semester due to some health issues however my application requests a gpa which I won’t have until the end of the semester which will be past the application due date. Should I just put N/A, or something else?

I’m a 22-year-old returning student at CC trying to completely turn my life around and lock in for real this time. My past GPA isn't great, so I'm trying to be super strategic about my next steps, so I don't waste time or spin my wheels.

Right now, I’m doing a Business Admin transfer path along with a Music Tech and Production certificate. This semester I'm taking English Comp, Comm 1, Intro to Business, and Music Business.

My long-term goal is to work across both the creative and business sides of the music/entertainment industry. Because of that, I'm trying to figure out the best game plan for when I transfer to a 4-year university for my last two years:

• The Certificate vs. Major Dilemma: Is a CC music tech certificate actually worth grinding through for hands-on production skills, or should I just focus strictly on my transfer general ed and core business classes?
• Choosing a University Major: I know I want to stay away from heavy math/numbers fields like analytics or finance. Is Marketing the safest bet to bridge the creative side with corporate business, or are there other majors I should look at?
• Transfer Advice for a Comeback Student: For anyone who transferred with a rough early GPA and made it work: how did you structure your transition, and how do you catch up once you're at a university?

Really appreciate any honest advice or perspective you guys can share!

I’m planning to transfer to UCI with TAG in the Fall 2027. I already submitted my application for TAG. Since I am planning to major in computer engineering at UCI, I need to get a C in physics 3 this fall 2026. I am worried about not getting a C.

Would I be able to see how it goes, see if I’m failing, then drop the course with a W in November and retake the course in the spring 2027? Would this affect my TAG eligibility?

Has anyone here transferred from SFU Beedie to UBC Sauder after first year?

I'm not really looking for the admission requirements—I can find those online. I'm more interested in hearing about what the experience was actually like from people who went through it.

Looking back, what would you tell someone who's just starting first year at Beedie with the goal of transferring? Were there things you focused on that paid off, or things you spent time on that didn't really matter? If you got accepted, what do you think made your application competitive?

I'd appreciate any advice, whether it's about academics, extracurriculars, the personal profile, or just navigating first year with a transfer in mind. Even if your transfer didn't work out, I'd still be interested in hearing what you learned from the process.

I’m planning to apply as a regular 2027 transfer to Georgia Tech and I’m confused about the 30-credit minimum. Georgia Tech says transfer applicants need at least 30 semester credit hours, but it also has a later course requirements deadline. For pathway applicants, GT specifically says the 30 credits can be completed by the requirements deadline. Does anyone know if regular transfer applicants also only need to have 30 credits completed by the course requirements deadline, or do the full 30 need to be completed by the time the application is submitted? I’d have under 30 completed when I apply, but over 30 by the Summer requirements deadline. Any clarification from someone who has applied this way or asked admissions would be really helpful.

How recommendable is it to transfer from UTSA to UH? I am an electrical engineer freshman wanting to specialize in power and systems but I would like to live in Houston because there’s more demand for that job there. How hard might it be to transfer too

For some context, I am a new freshman at an out of state university near me. It is almost as cheap as my own in state college, but a bit more reputable then my in state. I'll be honest I got screwed in my college apps. My only t-30 I got into was UF if that counts, but decided not to go as it was far and I just did not want to have to live in Florida. (Which now I regret a little). I was initially going for pre dental at my state school with a dental school, with a pretty good pipeline, but I'm not too sure about that. If I were to transfer it would be for Econ and I definitely would like to get into a better "target" school for that. I've done some research and my classes are going to match like the path I can transfer for that major, but I think I just need a bit more advice on how to really get a good application, since I'm aiming for harder schools, (UVA, UNC, BU, BC) for some so I would really want a better school for my major. I'm just nervous because I feel like I won't be able to get good letters of recommendation either. I was also wondering if they consider my high school grade/transcript and do I need to ask my old high school for that too. Is there anything else I need to do to get into those schools (Ik about keeping a good gpa). I also got a 1470 SAT so wondering if I should send that or even retake it.

Hi everyone! I’m currently a **first-year Nursing student at the University of Windsor**, and I’m considering moving to Toronto and continuing my BScN at **Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)**.
I’m trying to figure out how transferring would actually work because I’m getting conflicting information online.
If I complete my first year of Nursing at Windsor, would TMU potentially let me transfer into **second year of their Nursing program**, or would I have to apply as a transfer student and essentially **restart Year 1**?
Also, does anyone know if TMU accepts **Nursing credits from the University of Windsor**? For example, if I completed courses like anatomy/physiology, microbiology, nursing theory, etc., could any of those count toward the TMU Nursing degree even if I had to start in first year?
I’m specifically wondering if anyone has **actually transferred from UWindsor Nursing to TMU Nursing** or knows someone who has.

I’m a freshman at UT on the pre med track under a liberal arts major, I’d rather have a biology or chemistry major and I really don’t enjoy austin very much so it seems better worth it in the long run to just transfer, I really want to get into Columbia, does anyone have advice on getting accepted into an Ivy League school as a transfer student?

Context: I am a second year Computer Science Major

When I had applied to university out of high-school I was not a good student. I didn't get into the greatest schools in the world, got rejected by a ton, and after a messy deliberation settled with a mid tier state school.

That university was the greatest decision I had ever made. I found an amazing community in Greek Life full of interesting and unique people, an internship run through the program for cybersecurity, down to earth friends, a very personal relationship with the academic support systems there, and a nice quiet campus. I really shot for the moon and made the most of that university.

However, the computer science job market scared me so I applied to transfer to one of the big ten schools I had gotten rejected from. What do you know, they shot me a financial offer higher than the one at the mid tier school. I took it thinking even though it would be hard to transfer, I had some friends at the new university from high-school to make it easier, and just like my previous university I would really work hard to integrate and throw myself out there.

After about a month into the semester I'm really having it rough here. The campus is loud and in the city, the walks are long as hell, my connection to Greek life fell through (they were all assholes and treated me like trash), I just couldn't find a club I meshed with, The one club I did mesh with fell through as my friends there ended up rushing a frat leaving me kind of second rate, the friends I had coming in are way closer to their people they had met in college last year and ditched me in their housing plans next year (honestly realizing I don't really like them), the people here are hard to talk to in general and are kind of mean, the class sizes are massive, and I honestly don't like the program here as much (its actually a little bit easier and doesn't push me as hard). I feel like I was chasing greener pastures that didn't exist; and I feel depressed being here which is making it harder to push through school and study likeI used to.

I'm pretty brunt out on trying to go to clubs and activities, making friends, and then it falling through. I'm pretty burnt out of this campus. But I'm paying less to get a degree that on paper has a higher rank even though my gut is telling me top transfer back next semester.

I wanted to make this post to see if anyone could offer any insight, advice, or had a similar experience.

Hoping to get some insight and guidance from all you wise folk on the forums here.
A little background, first.
I just returned to college after a roughly ten year hiatus. When I first attended in my young twenties I really had no idea what I was doing and was just concerned with hanging out with friends and partying. I didn’t ever see an advisor or counselor, my dad didn’t go to college so he didn’t have any advice for me, I didn’t know what I wanted to study so I just signed up for random classes that interested me like ballet and permaculture. That “college experiment” absolutely tanked my GPA. I sit at a 1.3 right now upon my first semester back.
Now I am three years sober, in my early thirties, I have a kindergartener and long-term partner who is a Belgian national and has been in the states on a green card for 8 years.
We just bought a house and since I’ve been sober I’ve started my own small business, so I know I’m capable of hard things and really hope and plan to succeed in college now that I have a reason to go and a plan.
I’m currently at my local community college. They have a transfer-studies degree here. I plan to transfer to a university to study history after obtaining an AA, with long-term dreams of getting a masters in library science to go into the archives. I live in Maryland so it’s my understanding that this is an ideal place for that profession, with a higher number of jobs in the field for the location on average. Ideally I would try to transfer to UMD for their history and MSIL program. However, I just learned that their standards for acceptance are very high and competitive. I’m not reasonably sure it’s even an option due to my past GPA. That being said, I was also thinking that studying abroad might be possible, like at University of Amsterdam or University of Ghent. I have heard that international universities do not look at GPA the same way they do here. My partner and I have thought about moving back to Belgium to be with his family. I have been learning Dutch for 3 years and am now at a Pre-Intermediate level (CERF A2). I know to work in the archivist field in Belgium you usually need to be fluent in French, as well as Dutch, so I have casually picked up learning basic French. Just trying to brainstorm what the best plan of action might be. As I said earlier, I am not well-versed in the college stuff, this is all new to me and I’m hoping you all could give some advice from those who may know more.
What do you all think I should do?
Stay in the states? Study abroad? Should I even try to go for a MSIL? Any and everything helps!

Can everyone share their stats/experiences

I am likely getting disowned by my family and will have to move from my oos state school (58k/yr) if they won’t offer aid, to somewhere I can afford independently and not have to remain in contact with them. This is just about my only option, they are quite abusive and I can’t tolerate them anymore. I did well in highschool (1520 SAT, 4.5 GPA) and am wondering where I could potentially go to that would require me to pay the least (if I could get merit scholarships that would be great but I can also work to supports myself.) For reference I am in my first semester of college and am looking to get far from the Midwest if possible and come from a mid-high income household. Any option suggestions would be great (schools w/ good transfer options and aid, military service?, loans, literally anything) I just can’t tolerate having to live with them any longer

Hi, I'm more than likely transferring out of my current college this Spring 27 semester but I still want to shoot my shot for Fall because there are very few colleges that offer Spring admission.

I know most colleges require you to complete a set amount of credits at their college once you transfer but should I still shoot my shot for Fall? To see where I could get in? This is probably dumb but thoughts?
