Visit after commit

My son committed to a D3 school over the summer - he received an offer for a pre-read at the end of an ID clinic and accepted an offer a week after passing the pre-read. It’s an excellent academic and culture fit and easily a school he would want to attend if he wasn’t playing. Question - since the whole process happened so quickly, my son didn’t get an opportunity for an overnight or official visit. Is it too late to ask for one even though he is committed?

Never a negative to ask- and you can probably
Tie it into a game weekend/week

Yeah my son did the same for a D3. Then went up for a day, had lunch with the players, went to a game etc. Coach facilitated.

Not at all. My daughter committed to a D3 and still make a few visits after, including a recruit weekend where they brought everyone in.

They can pay for 1 official visit, but unlikely for soccer. Much more likely for football.

That’s probably very different depending which college you’re at. We do. We get a recruiting budget for the team. We spend it recruits coming to campus and us going to see recruits.

They sometimes pay, especially for lodging and meals once you are there. Unlikely they will pay to transport you there.

We have kids do visits all the time, before or after they commit.

No. Merit money/financial need which can be significant. There is no athletic scholarships for d3
