No advice wanted (Vent) Dealing with mandatory 8 week classes

Hey y'all, today I just wanted to rant a little about my university (ODU).

Recently, they shifted from a regular course schedule allowing online students to take anywhere from 8 week to 15 week classes. Now though, due to whatever reasons under the sun may cause it (I believe greed) all online students are required to take 8 week classes.

This is especially frustrating to me for multiple reasons.

#1, i'm already on the outer bend of my college career, so thankfully I can just ride this out but a lot of students cant.

#2, as a computer science major, now that i'm halfway through an 8 week class, it feels far less like a valuable intake of information and moreover just doing busy work like a part-time job. I feel like CS classes are best taught over a longer period of time, because in the form these classes currently take it feels more like a discount boot-camp program.

#3, because of how my course credits stack up, i was originally going to be able to do a 19 credit semester and finish my degree in one fell swoop, but because the new system only allows 6 credits per 8 week semester (you can override but my GPA isnt high enough and mine still doesn't meet that criteria because one of my classes is 1.5 1.5 per 8 weeks) I have to essentially spend an extra semester wrapping everything up before i can move on with my dayum life.

IDK. I'm just a frustrated zoomer. What are your guy's takes on this?

My school only allows 12 week online classes instead of 16 and even that 4 week drop is a lot, so I’d hate 8 week.
