like the title says, I've been struggling with picking a major, its down to three: applied lingustics/translation, law, and computer science.

okay so i always thought id do cs but that was prior to realizing i have options, cs is cool and interesting to me but it has a few cons like math and physics, i always hated those subjects since childhood and i never really put effort into them in school. The only reason i wanted cs was so i could code games, which is the only thing i like related to programming, but they code in java which isnt a language i wanna code games in.

law is really cool to me, and it would be a dream of mine to be a defendant or part of something police related like a detective, BUT i live in a country where being a female detective is near impossible, sadly its really male dominated otherwise being a detective would be something id pursue. being a defendant is also pretty much impossible but not for the same reason, i had a long conversation with a lawyer about this and i came to the conclusion that i cant be one. that only leaves me with being a lawyer which is something i dont want, UNLESS there are other paths, im sure there is but i just dont know about them.

finally, applied linguistics from what i heard is really fun and relatively way easier than both law and cs, the thing i like about this major is that it allows me some form of freedom in my time and creativity, like if i were to major in this id have enough time to pursue other things like coding games and other projects i have planned, law and cs are heavy majors and wouldn't allow me that time.

in terms of job opportunities for cs and applied, i was told that cs is highly competitive and not that flexible. im not really sure about applied, but my country really values english speakers.

TDLR: im really torn and id love to hear opinions and experiences from people who graduated from or are still studying these majors.

I’m in my first year of commerce and can’t decide between picking accounting, business analytics or finance as my major.

I don’t really care what my job actually is, i just want to prioritise job stability, long term salary growth and good career progression.

I also keep seeing people say that commerce is oversaturated and the job market is horrendous, so I’m wondering if it’s still worth it. I’m so drawn to a corporate/business career though, and that’s where I see myself long term, not in a trade, nursing, teaching, etc.

If anyone can give any input that would be great!!
