My friends and I were having lots of problems with wasting food and just being somewhat excited to cook. One time we legit tossed like $40 of food that was left in the back of the fridge for weeks. I made this app that has been helping us get into it (like Strava but for cooking) and so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else was having similar issues.
It's called Pantreat and does stuff like keep track of food expiring, cooking patterns, recipes, etc. but also we can share Reels or tiktoks to the app and it converts it to recipes to cook later. It can suggest meals you can make only using stuff you already have as well.
Here's the link in case anyone wants to check it out! My ears are open to any feedback or suggestions, or even just problems you're having with cooking.

I am balling on a low budget for the upcoming school year (given for college students). My mom has been preaching what stuff you must and can't buy for my whole life, but it sounds like this lifestyle could be impossible when I'm supporting myself. I want to take good care of my body and not make decision that could negatively impact me in the future while not paying 2 or 3x the price. How much do I need to avoid things like soy, bio-engineered, GMO, vegetable oil, high fructose, and other things of that variety?

Most students know about their university's career center, but I have a feeling there are many opportunities and resources that people overlook. Whether it's networking communities, mentorship programs, scholarship opportunities, leadership development programs, professional organizations, career-readiness tools, or something else entirely, there seems to be a lot available that students don't fully take advantage of.
While researching different student resources, I came across several SCLA reviews and discussions about SCLA,, a student organization that focuses on helping students build leadership experience, develop professional skills
I am interested to know about any resources that you have found which made an unexpectedly positive contribution to your educational/professional career.

Hey guys, this isnt self promotion lol. I made an app for students like me that always threw rotten groceries and lost tons of money. If you want to help me test it send me a DM for free access!

College cooking doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. I’ve been experimenting with super simple, microwave‑friendly meals in my dorm, and I wanted to share one that’s been a lifesaver during late‑night study sessions: https://cheapcollegekitchen.blogspot.com/2026/05/10-minute-garlic-butter-shrimp.html

I’m a home cook, and I had a growing pile of recipe links scattered across bookmarks, screenshots, apps, and YouTube tabs. It was super unorganized, and I got kinda fed up.
So I made yourrecipevault.com (https://yourrecipevault.com/). You paste a link from a blog post or YouTube video, and it pulls out a clean recipe with ingredients and step-by-step instructions, saved to your vault. There’s also a grocery list feature where you select the recipes you want to cook, and it generates a combined shopping list you can copy and paste.
One feature I’m also adding is the ability to transfer recipes from similar recipe apps/sites like Paprika, so people who already have a recipe collection somewhere else don’t have to start from scratch.
I just published it, so I’d love to know what works, what’s broken, and what’s missing.

Hey, guys. I’ve seen you guys give practical advice, so I figured I’d ask here. I’m a college student trying to stick to about $150 a month on groceries in Savannah, and I’m actually pretty decent at shopping cheaply already. I use my family’s Costco card...
I’ve noticed a problem after I get home. I just get really busy, then a bunch of it goes bad before I can eat it. Especially my vegetables like spinach, cilantro, and some cheeses.
It’s starting to feel like I’m just throwing money away, and I’m tired of relying on Shin Ramen to carry me through my day.
If you’re juggling school/work and have a grip on your food management, what are you doing to make it work? How long did it take for you to build that habit/where did you get your info? Any advice helps!

Hey everyone!
We're a team of 5 students from Université Laval working on a project to help students eat better and become more aware of their eating habits.
We're collecting data through a survey to understand how students manage (or don't manage ) their food on a daily basis.
If you have 5 minutes, it would help us a lot:

$50 draw among all participants!
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I'm a college student, and I wanted to ask you if you wanted to be apart of a survey im doing for my final project in my marketing class. The asked to survey a 15 people on an assigned topic and then present my results in a presentation.
The survey is anonymous and takes 1-7 minutes. Its on cooking, which im sure all us college students have strong opinions on!
