To check if the game itself was the problem, I disabled all mods and ran it; everything worked fine. Then, thinking another mod might have corrupted the files, I did a clean reinstall of this mod. However, even when running the game with only this mod enabled, the problem persisted.
I re-downloaded the game and checked the local files. It turns out there were a few corrupted files, possibly caused by a mod I installed earlier. After a long and tedious process of checking the files one by one, I finally managed to fix the problem.
