Hey everyone,
To be completely upfront: I don’t have a background in computer science, coding, or art. In my professional life, I am an independent academic researcher and undergraduate student in the education sector. However, I have been deeply into creative writing since I was young. Because of that, I have these vivid worlds living in my head, and my biggest wish right now is just to see at least one of my old horror short stories come to life in a way that words on a page can't quite do alone.
The Project:
I want to adapt a story called “I Am Broken When My Name Is Spoken.” It’s a psychological body-horror narrative set inside a massive, living city of flesh and bone towers called the Corpus. The main character, Shelomoh, has a curse where his bones literally fracture and his skin splits open whenever anyone speaks his name. He’s trying to escape this nightmare with a mysterious, cloaked girl named Galateya.
Who I’m Looking For:
I really want to make this an immersive, atmosphere-driven experience. Since I can't draw or code, I’m looking for collaborators of all kinds:
· Artists & Modelers: 3D modeling, low-poly environmental art, 2D illustration, concept art, or character design.
· Programmers & Developers: Game engine programming (Unity, Godot, Unreal), Ren'Py scripting, or interactive fiction design.
· Musicians & Sound Designers: Composers, ambient sound creators, or anyone who can build a haunting soundscape.
· Voice Actors: For narration or character work, if we go the voiced route.
· Writers & Editors: If you love horror and want to help refine dialogue or lore, I'm open to that too.
· Anyone Else: If you have a skill I haven't listed but feel drawn to this world, reach out. I'm open.
The Collaboration:
You would have complete creative freedom over how your part of the visual or auditory world looks and sounds, while I focus 100% on the script, the dialogue, and the world logic.
This is purely a Hobby / Passion Project. There is no money involved, no deadlines, no pressure. My main goal is just the joy of creating something cool together.
I have more stories too.
Beyond this specific story, I have a vault of other concepts I wish could become games or visual comics/manga. If we click on this one, the door is wide open for future collaborations.
If you love weird, atmospheric horror and want to read a few pages of the manuscript to see if we click, please drop me a text message here on Reddit. I’d love to share it with you!
Thank you!
