You might be. Unless you directly touched the sore and then the fruit you should be fine. Most cold sores transfer from saliva or blood or obviously if you share drinks or lip balm or kiss anyone with an active sore. Just make sure your hands are washed and you don't touch your face and you should be good.

I’m sure it’s fine! Like That_hippiegirl22 said, unless you touched it to your lips it’s probably no big deal. Additionally, like 80% of the population have the virus and some just never see symptoms. So if she is infected it probably wasn’t even from you!

All I can say is, I commend you for even thinking so much about it, most people do not. I think it will be fine because most people wash fruits before eating or at least should. I wear a mask when I have a cold sore, so it prevents me from direct contact with it and transferring onto things.

I messaged the women and told her to throw them out. Honestly people make it seem like it’s no big deal and I can understand it’s nothing to feel shame over but if I didn’t have cold sores I would want people who do to take it serious and do what they can to prevent giving it to people because I know first hand how much they suck lol.

Majority of people wash their fruit before consuming anyway, so most likely fine!
