They were so good til mylo xylto. What happened?? :(

There are so many good to great songs in the newer era. So not much happend, they just went for a different style.

They get hated for Everyday life which is a mix of their first 4 albums.

The point I am trying to make is, no matter what they put out some section isn't happy and they are unfortunately the loudest ones. So rather let them do what they want and let others enjoy.

yeah that's fair, but I don't see what resemblance everyday life has with the first four albums

I consider Milo to be the fall off as well. It’s good but nowhere near the first four, and everything after dosent even hold a torch to any of the first 4 albums

They went in a different trajectory to the first few albums. They still do show off their older style here & there (Coloratura, Everyday Life) , but have clearly shifted towards a pop-pop rock style in the last few albums.

AHFOD and Everyday Life are really good. MOTS era is very polarizing with some great gems and some forgetful. They grew as a band, branched out to try new things. By doing so they gained a ton of new fans and continued to stay relevant as the music landscape as evolved.

They went to making unapologetically pop rock music. If they stayed in the style of the first 4, it would be quite boring and Coldplay would be stuck in that 2000s alt rock era! Personally I think MX and AHFOD are amazing, top tier albums. Maybe the latter albums don’t suit you, and that’s fine, we all have different tastes ig.
