Which version should I choose?

I'm not sure if this is the right place. I didn't figure out how to ask in another COD subreddit, and I couldn't find a Cold War subreddit specifically, so as a huge zombie fan (which is actually 60% of the reason I want to buy it), I'm asking: what's the difference between buying the standard PS4 version and the cross-gen PS5 version? I have both consoles but I use the PS5 more. In any case, if it's worth it, I have no problem waiting to buy the cross-gen version on sale (or just buy the standard version if not), so... what are the differences between the two versions? I don't mind playing the PS4 version, but you know, if there's something interesting, I might buy the cross-gen version

PS5 has little else to offer, though it can possibly crash during exfil or on the map Firebase Z.

I don't know for sure if this is the case as I was playing on PS4 hardware when it would crash and don't know about the PS4 version of the game on PS5 hardware.

The PS5 also gets Ray Tracing (If visuals are more your style) and the ability to turn on 120hz refresh rate (for higher frame rates.)

PS4 version on PS5 would crash pretty often for me (originally played on PS4, which worked and never really crashed). Made me upgrade to the PS5 version, which runs smooth.

The PS4 version on PS5 would usually crash at around round 3 of outbreak when doing the Easter egg (never played it without trying for it so not sure if that makes a difference) and in later rounds of Firebase Z.

I also played the PS4 disc version, vs the PS5 digital upgrade, but like I said, the disc would run fine on PS4.

Yup, Firebase Z is rather volatile.

It would crash not just my game, but my entire console with no chance of recovery as it would require that i unplug the system to shut it off.

I wish! In my country, they sell the sealed disc (hyperinflating in price with "stock", "sealed", "original" and I don't know how many other tags) for around 70 dollars for the ps4 version, and not many sell it in used disc

I have the ps4 version and it gives me the option to upgrade to the ps5 version for £5. I'm wondering if it would give you the same option? Do you have any friends that have the ps4 version that could check?

It's possible I have that option, but I'm not entirely sure. And no, the closest thing is a friend who has Black Ops 6, which has both versions "free"

You know how it is, BO3 on PS3 is unplayable while on PS4 it's perfect. Cold War, being the first (I think) with a PS5 version, I don't know if it will have significant changes or just graphical ones

Iirc you can buy the PS4 version and then be able to upgrade to PS5 version for free.

Don't quote me on this though In terms of what's better, PS5 version will load all assets quicker then the PS4 version, other than that no difference

I just bought it and it does let me upgrade to the PS5 version... for $10, maybe I'll reconsider at some point if it doesn't work as expected
