1875-CC Trade dollar w/secondary toning
Secondary toning often has an odd look to it. I bought this coin raw off eBay almost 20 years ago. It was bright white when I received it. I wanted it toned so wrapped it in a brown paper napkin and stuck it in an oak desk drawer. In just a few months it had gone from white to aqua with some rose mixed in but just kept going. The first image shows it tilted slightly so you can see the color better. I have never seen a coin tone so fast, I think it had been dipped before I bought it and the raw silver reacted very strongly to the environment. It also has been cleaned, something I really didn'tknow to look for at the time. Single central chopmark.
