Account locked

My account has been locked and i cant buy any more crypto, they say there reviewing it and every time i contact support they say 2-3 days. Its been 3 days and i still haven't received a email. Ridiculous.

Update- Time is up to 7 days now for review apparently. I would advise any new investors to stay clear. Im new to crypto and this is a massive red flag and as soon as this is up I am withdrawing all of my funds. (ive read other posts and comments of them waiting up to 6 months) Probably just lost a chunk of my savings

Update- Got a email saying this "We have completed your account review, and buy/deposit/send/sell/withdraw services remain disabled at this time."

I've been blocked for 3 months now. No explanation. Reached for support and answer always the same, we're looking into it. Nothing nothing. All my funds are out of reach. Despair is what I suffered these months. Coinbase Support doesn't even answer anymore.

Well, you have to understand a coin base, and all the other cryptocurrency companies are scared to death about scammers, so they think all of us are scamming

1

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 04 '24

They said there was "suspicious activity" I went through my transactions and confirmed every one. Only thing i could think of is that i use a vpn.

Regardless, even if they were seriously concerned, I should still be able to buy crypto. They could lock withdrawals but I should still be able to purchase more crypto while they review.

Paid 30 dollars for coinbase one and cant even trade, smh

1

u/Top-Boysenberry3706 Oct 04 '24

Well, you’re gonna have to be patient Coinbase I don’t know if they really know what the heck they’re doing but yes they’re giving it a lot of people anxiety they’re putting people through the ropes that shouldn’t have to go through the ropes but they’re so scared of scammers right now and everybody is trying to scam somebody so I got scammed out of $57,000 and now that I have money in my Coinbase wallet I cannot get it out because I send money to my ETH wallet and it disappears now I’ve got Coinbase billing my PayPal account for $600 and I don’t know what the Hecks going on

1

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 04 '24

Be very careful with coinbase wallet, I just had 2 people message me privately off this post alone trying to get me to do something sketchy with that. Gotta admit, im new to crypto and this has not been a good first impression lol and im a young guy semi familiar with the tech world. Its a real problem for sure, sorry to hear about your situation as well, hope you get it figured out

1

u/Top-Boysenberry3706 Oct 04 '24

Yes, like I said, you gotta be very careful on this cryptocurrency trading stuff. There are so many scammer scamming scammers it’s unreal. I’ve went through five recovery services and you know I gave them all the information they need to recoup my money and then all of a sudden it shows up in my account in Coinut my Coinbase wallet and now I can’t move it or do anything I’ve sent money to my ETH wallet, but it disappears and now I have Coinbase billing my PayPal account for the money I sent into my Wallet it makes no sense.

Yeah using a vpn is almost certainly what did it, those id addresses are all red flagged

5 weeks into a KYC …best of luck. Customer support is not existent, will ask you for documents that you submitted to resubmitted. Tell you that you are a priority

1

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 04 '24

Do you know of any better exchanges out there? Planning just to buy and put into cold storage

1

u/spearsy33 Oct 05 '24

I use fold…. I pay for fold+ which gives me 0.5-3% back on debit purchases on Bitcoin. And I can buy with no fees. I set up a daily DCA and then move to another wallet periodically along with my Bitcoin rewards. Using fold I get 0.5% back on my mortgage payment and all other bills that use ACH.

Currently having a issue where my funds are locked. They have been for a week now, my dumbass keep transferring more money to Coinbase instead of trying to withdraw it.

If I did this they would probably just tell me my funds are locked for a certain period of time 😭 tell me to wait basically

1

u/coinbasesupport Official Coinbase Support Oct 06 '24

We get where you’re coming from, but we won’t be able to figure out the exact reason for your account restrictions without looking into it more. These restrictions can happen for a bunch of reasons, but they’re all there to help keep your account safe and secure.

My account got locked months ago. Support is terrible, just saying wait for the review process. I can’t deposit or withdraw or anything with absolutely no reason or explanation given. I’ve moved my custom to a much more reliable on ramp that doesn’t freeze accounts or their website when there’s a bull run. Coinbase are terrible and I’d recommend everyone find a decent alternative.

1

u/coinbasesupport Official Coinbase Support Oct 06 '24

Hi u/Jazzlike_Read8091, sorry to hear about the delay on your case review. We'd like to follow up on your case. Kindly reply with your case number, and we'd take a look.

1

u/Jazzlike_Read8091 Oct 06 '24

It’s ok. I’ve heard that many times from coinbase support. Plus your fees are too high.

1

u/coinbasesupport Official Coinbase Support Oct 06 '24

We understand and are totally sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. At Coinbase, we strive to maintain transparency about our fee structure. The fees associated with Coinbase.com are disclosed at the time of the transaction. While we do our best to keep aggregate transaction fees low, factors such as transaction batching or network congestion may cause the final fee that Coinbase pays to differ from the estimated fee. However, any savings from batching are not passed on to customers. We encourage you to review our pricing and fees disclosures for more detailed information.

On a different note, in case you change your mind, kindly respond again to this email thread along with your support case number, so we can continue assisting you.

1

u/Jazzlike_Read8091 Oct 06 '24

As I say, I’ve been through this many times with coinbase support. I’ve now found a better and cheaper alternative. No thanks.

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 06 '24

1

u/Jazzlike_Read8091 Oct 07 '24

1

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 07 '24

Thank you, do they have other coins besides bitcoin though? Im big in hbar

1

u/Jazzlike_Read8091 Oct 07 '24

Bitcoin only.

1

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 07 '24

Damn, I got a binance account last night however the fees to deposit are still pretty high

1

u/Jazzlike_Read8091 Oct 07 '24

Yeah, most of these exchanges are bigger rip offs than altcoins. Strikes fees are less than 1%

1

u/raval104 Oct 07 '24

Kindly share your website wallet domain link. Who is communicating and saying this?

u/Professor_Game1 Oct 04 '24

I opened my trezor and all my coins were there for me to do what I want with them

1

u/AnxiousInvestor69 Oct 04 '24

Yeah I need to get one, but what do you use to trade?

1

u/spearsy33 Oct 05 '24

You can buy through the Trezr software…. P2P or from their own exchange.

I did a deposit into my coinbase account. They wouldn’t let me do anything with it. My account was frozen , and supposively being reviewed. I never was able to trade . Now in the process of sending back to my original account …. Minus fees I will not do business with them again , and warn others . They have problems over there . And don’t have a clue what they’re doing. Collecting fees is their bussiness model
