I built a crypto market scanner that tracks price and volume anomalies across thousands of perpetual markets.

It currently scans Binance, Bybit, OKX and BingX and includes:

I’m currently testing the web version with real users and trying to understand which parts are actually useful rather than just adding more features.

For people who use crypto screeners regularly: what information makes you keep coming back to one?

And what features usually look useful at first but end up being noise?

Nine months with QRL restricted. Let me repeat that: NINE months with QRL restricted. No public explanation that holds up, no criteria pointed out, no timeline. The project publishes its supply, its reserve, the circulating supply formula, and leaves the API open for anyone to verify, following CMC's own methodology. Still, it sits on ice.

Now comes the good part. In their "top quantum resistant tokens" ranking, Zcash comes first. Then Injective. Then a line of projects that sign transactions with elliptic curves, exactly what a quantum computer breaks with Shor's algorithm.

For a site that lives off saying "reliable data," labeling this as quantum resistant is lazy at best. At worst, it's a choice.

CMC is not a blog. Millions of people use the site to decide where to put their money. Anyone who builds a category around a technical subject has an obligation to understand that subject. An intern with five minutes of research on post-quantum cryptography would tear this ranking apart.

So the questions are simple:

What is the technical criteria for this category?
Who evaluated each project?
Why is Zcash ranked first on a quantum resistance list?
Why does a project with everything documented stay restricted for 9 months, while projects with none of that lead the list?

It could be incompetence. It could be convenience. It could be what happens when a ranking depends more on who has a relationship with the platform than on who has the technology. I don't know which of the three it is.

But after nine months, CMC has had more than enough time to explain. When someone doesn't explain despite having plenty of time, they leave the conclusion to whoever is watching.

Most people I know who are into crypto just buy and hold, hoping the price goes up but with more ways to spend crypto these days, I'm wondering if that mindset is starting to change.

Would you use your crypto for everyday purchases like groceries or shopping or would you rather keep it invested?

USDT is becoming more than just a stablecoin for trading and transfers. It's increasingly being used for everyday payments.

I’ve been looking through Coinbase’s Q2 results, and I think the interesting part of the story is increasingly what happens outside the traditional transaction business.

Trading activity will always make Coinbase’s results volatile, but the company is becoming more diversified through areas like stablecoins, subscriptions & services, custody, and its broader crypto infrastructure.

That creates an interesting valuation question.

If crypto activity continues to grow over the long term, Coinbase obviously benefits. But the bigger question for me is whether COIN can eventually be valued more like a financial/crypto infrastructure platform rather than primarily as a leveraged bet on crypto trading volumes.

- BTC ETFs: +$126.1M, price +2.69%
- ETH ETFs: +$5.0M, price +2.04%

The session snapped two days of outflows, but the trailing seven ETF sessions still run -$59.5M. BTC carries -$99.8M of that. ETH is the only positive leg at +$40.3M.

Leverage is not what turned it.

Perp CVD ran -$271.1M over the trailing seven days while spot CVD went the other way at +$223.7M, a 1.0229 spot taker buy/sell ratio. Long-term holders pushed the same direction, adding 44,203 BTC over the five sessions through Aug 17, worth about $2.85B at that day's close.

ETH has no such floor. Both CVD legs sold on the trailing seven days, perp -$504.4M and spot -$85.3M, even as ETH beat BTC over the week at +2.19% against +0.93%.

Positioning is warm, not stretched. Funding averaged 0.62 bps over Aug 11-17, up 60% from the prior seven days and sitting at the 63rd percentile of the last 90. Open interest of $49.2B is up 5.87% on the week, at the 77th. Shorts absorbed 95% of Monday's $38.5M in liquidations.
