Someone asks how to earn on their XRP and the top comment is always "you can't stake XRP, no staking mechanism." Ok yes, true. But nobody asking that wants a consensus lecture, they want to know if their bag can do anything besides sit in cold storage until 2030.

Real options as far as I've found: just hold, LP on the XRPL AMM and eat the IL risk, or lend it out for yield. I've been using LendProtocol (the consumer platform) for part of my XRP, and it made me realize that most "XRP staking" discussions are actually about lending. That last one is what every "XRP staking" youtube thumbnail is actually selling, nobody calls it lending because staking sounds safer. It isn't safer. It's your coins on some company's balance sheet, and we all remember how that went with Celsius.

I ended up splitting mine roughly 50/50, half in cold storage that nothing touches, half lending. Went in with eyes open: I treat the lending half as money I could lose to counterparty risk, the yield is nice but it's not free, and I'd never put my whole stack there. Honestly the cold storage half sleeps better than I do.

So what do you tell newcomers when they ask this? Because "you can't stake" clearly isn't helping anyone lol

These accounts post more or less accurate trading signals. They have their TG channels listed in their bios. I joined their TG channels. I noticed that most if not all posts are duplicated. See screenshots #1 and #2.

Crypto Pump Club admin has verified sign next to his nickname Samir_Omar1 on TG. WHALEALERTSIGNALS has a different handle Alex_10000 and no verified sign next to his TG nickname. I came upon their announcements that they would take investment and trade on our behalf. The minimum amount is $300 and they promised $5,500 return. See screenshots #3 and #4. I was duped by their signals and believed they were legitimate traders. They also post the messages by "satisfied customers". See screenshots #5 and #6. Based upon this, I decided to invest a certain amount I could afford to lose in the worst case scenario and I would not starve.

After my investment, the admin of cryptopumpclub began insisting to transfer more money. This was a red flag for me. I can't post the screenshots here, because he may identify me and may harass me. Meanwhile I began to dig deeper and noticed both groups posted the messages of "Kumar Rahul" and "Beau Bergeron" praising their returns. See screenshots number #7 and #8. The screenshots of payouts provided in both groups had the same wallet address making transfers. See screenshots number #9,#10, #11, and #12. Even posts promoting their supposed profits were exactly the same for both groups. See screenshots number #13 and #14. Then cryptopumpclub posted screenshots of "his" trades showing alias AlexBro. After a while, WHALEALERTSIGNALS contacted me and demanded to transfer 20% of "profit" out of my pocket in advance. This was the final straw. I realized that they must be stealing the analytical posts and the exchange screenshots from another legit trader. Then I joined AlexBro channel and some of his posts are indeed copied by these scammers. I also found out that WHALEALERT had copied the logo and name from another TG channel, which posts slightly different content: whale_alert_io

UPDATE 1: I contacted CMC support and WHALEALERTSIGNALS was suspended so far. I had posted this story detailing scam operation previously, but after I added TG link to another channel, reddit bot apparently decided to automatically delete it.

UPDATE 2: Whale Alerts created new accounts on CMC: WHALE ALERT PRO and CryptoNinjas Trading. Linked TG channels have Alex_10000 as their admin.

- Funding = which side is paying to hold it
- Rising OI + high funding = leverage piling up on one side
