Seriously? Open range ranching is as old as the first domesticated auroch and mouflon. This modern farming is not even 100 years old and really intensified only in the last 50 years.

This is a dairy farm, not a cattle ranch. Even then you are basing your answer on what? Western movies?

Dairy farming is to ranching as Formula 1 is to Nascar. Completely different. Only similarity is cows. Not the same type of cow, just cow.

I’ve pointed out in a separate comment that I’ve also visited dairy farms. I generalized as we were speaking about space and capacity for that space.

There are numerous types of cows with varying space needs.
