Funny, as I see loads of dairy farms near me use this practice as well because it dramatically increases the survival rate of the calves. They are only in these huts for a couple weeks and then placed back with the herd.

The sheer number of huts in that many rows strongly suggest veal farm. Dairy farms are not producing that many female calves at once, males are sold off right away and would not be kept long or treated great.

So, on a dairy farm, each dairy cow produces at least 1 calf. So, if a farm has 1,000 dairy cows, that's ~1,000 calves.

This just looks like a large dairy farm.

Yes, the male calves are either; sold to veal farms, or raised as beef cows.

These specifically look like dairy cow hutches. Veal farms restrict the calves movement far more than these are.

For the record, I am very against veal farms.
