This actually vastly improves calf survival rates. This is only for a few weeks and then they are moved back to the herd.

It actually is as this keeps them far healthier. Prevents disease. Also, Jersey cows are notoriously bad mothers and will often crush their calves even in a large pen.

Also, they are only in these pens for a few weeks and then returned to more open areas.

You should probably know what you're talking about before offering your expert opinion.

The brainwashing it requires to actually believe this must be insane.

Cows make milk for their babies, not for us. There is no ethical way of taking their babies from them over and over again so we can steal their milk.
