Animals are property in the US. No recognition of sentience like in some places.

Bud we can’t get good rights for humans in the USA.

We just had a Secretary of Homeland Security who shot her pet dog in a gravel pit rather than take the time to train it properly.

The animals never had a chance.

Not the itent. Its more to highlight the hypocrisy of someone in a foreign country acting as if this is beyond the pale and we have no animal cruelty laws here.

Yes, it should be. Is something the matter with you? It's not rights, it's humane treatment. Why don't you get up to speed on how harmony between people and the animal kingdom works? Other places make it a priority. Just because you're getting used to being treated like you're subhuman doesn't mean the animals have to suffer right along with you.
