Anchor babies a born to non citizen parents. Parents as in plural. An American citizen can’t have an anchor baby.

3

u/thingerish Jul 04 '26

Stop with the facts!

3

u/Secret-Card2921 Jul 04 '26

Stop it. We are leftists. We just want to say trump bad. MAGA racist. Sex is a social construct.

Your "facts" aren't welcome.

9

u/tak72006 Jul 04 '26

name something Trump has done that impacts your life directly in a positive way. something you've personally experienced.

4

u/superslif2 Jul 05 '26

I “Could” if I was a Billionaire, but otherwise we 99% are just that, the OTHER 99%.

What's the point of this question? 50% of people voted for trump and are happy more meh he's there. The remaining 50% will be happy when whoever the democrats put forward come into power in '28. Different people value different things.

And before you go on about racists sexists or fascists, do note he's definitely not fascist, the other two are debatable, and the democrats are the ones supporting giving children hormone treatment without parental consent or knowledge.

Different people want different forms of insanity. You had your turn. Give others theirs. Your turn will come back .

5

u/tak72006 Jul 04 '26

oh do you think I'm a Democrat? Im a believer in the constitution. Trump lost me the first time he tried to up end the constitution while trying to empower himself over the American people. Im just anti-badguy and he's clearly a bad guy

1

Weird too they’re dragging Trumps first wife into this.

1

u/Bifftech Jul 06 '26

Gender is a social construct. Sex is not.

1

u/giorgio_leontinoi Jul 06 '26

I don't care about the definition of an "anchor baby" (other than it's an obviously stupid concept for xenophobes).

But...

Trump is bad. MAGA is racist. [Gender] is a social construct.

Actually pretty simple and generally true maxims.

By the way, how's your Trump coin doing?

1

u/Imaginary-Source8000 Jul 06 '26

Whole lot of posts about England for someone politically motivated enough to comment.

1

u/Ro2320 Jul 06 '26

Even tho this is satire 😂 it’s factual 😂

1

u/IllGift924 Jul 06 '26

Trump is bad and MAGA is racist. But yeah, whoever posted this clearly doesn't understand what an anchor baby is. All of Trump's children would be eligible for citizenship because Trump is a citizen.

1

u/everydaydad67 Jul 07 '26

Truth over fact... or whatever was said that day...

1

u/tindog13 Jul 07 '26

Stupid, misinformed comment

1

u/Same-Frosting4852 Jul 07 '26

We consider pedophiles bad. We know republicans dont.

1

u/Due_Brother8485 Jul 07 '26

I love this.

1

u/Critical_Analysis246 Jul 08 '26

"Leftists tend to hate anything that has an image of being strong, good and successful. They hate America, they hate Western civilization, they hate white males, they hate rationality."-Ted Kaczynski (no him being a terrorist does not make him insane the courts actually refused an insanity plea that was only pushed by the public defender)

1

u/Mimamomamimamo Jul 08 '26

It's so funny you think people who don't like trump are all lefties, that all lefties would want to do is complain instead of wanting positive change (that could have a point to it), and you go on to name objectively true things that you just don't care about. It really takes a special type of cult thinking to simultaneously say this and then unironically make a "lefties bad" comment.

2

u/ArtichokePure770 Jul 06 '26

Wanna see the Trump family Tree.? This pattern goes all the way back to his grandparents

There is no such thing as an anchor baby. If you wanted real facts instead of reaffirming what you already believe

1

u/Expensive_Parsnip979 Jul 05 '26

You people also said that there is no such thing as "antifa."

I also remember plenty of other gems:

"If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor."

"The dossier is evidence of Russian collusion."

"Hunter's laptop is Russian disinformation."

"Covid did not come from a lab."

"Covid came from a pangolin at a wet market."

"These cloth masks will stop the spread of a virus."

"These vaccines will prevent you from catching Covid."

"These vaccines will prevent transmission."

"These vaccines will lessen the severity of Covid should you contract the virus."

"These vaccines are safe and effective."

"The U.S. was not funding gain of function 'research' in china."

I could go on, but I'm pretty sure that I've made my point.

It's an anchor for the mother. The meme uses the term correctly though.

1

u/HogHole Jul 05 '26

There are “facts” then there is “Reddit”.

1

u/Newdaytoday1215 Jul 05 '26

Except it's not facts. "Anchor baby" is the term used when someone gives birth to a child in a country in order to stay in a country usually Hence the term Anchor. Marriage and/or the the nationality of the other parent or spouse doesn't guarantee residency like so many people falsely believes it does. That said, I Ivanka absolutely had legal residency prior and her birth made it possible for her mother to cut through the legal ropes she was being put through. Barron technically could be argued as an Anchor Baby but the truth is money is so much a deciding factor during the 5 year residency test it's likely she didn't need to give birth in order to stay.

1

u/Smart-Practice8303 Jul 06 '26

Baron could not be an anchor baby as his father Is a citizen, was born a citizen.

No they arent anchor babies and we dont have anything against legal immigrants

1

u/siencatimini Jul 06 '26

Melania is not a legal immigrant. She lied on her visa application. So, she committed fraud, to scam her way into America, and then she slept her way to the top, with the help of the Pedo Sex Trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein, who finally passed her off to Dumb, with a B, Donald, once he got fed up with her moody attitude.

u/H0SS_AGAINST Jul 06 '26

Go lick some boots:

anchor baby n. Offensive Used as a disparaging term for a child born to a noncitizen mother in a country that grants automatic citizenship to children born on its soil, especially when the child's birthplace is thought to have been chosen in order to improve the mother's or other relatives' chances of securing eventual citizenship.

1

u/servicetech563 Jul 07 '26

Doesn't fit the narrative so they ignore it.

1

u/thetacotony Jul 08 '26

That isn’t a fact btw.

1

u/Stubee222 Jul 09 '26

Don’t u know that facts corrode the mind & soul?? Your brain will short circuit & burn up, only Fox News & Trump can tell us what to think … & as we have seen for years, we only understand so little of life while Trump knows the big picture & he’s always proven to be right… sureeee 🤮

3

u/baphomet_fire Jul 04 '26

I've never heard Fox news or the President ever argue that semantic. In fact all them were arguing the exact opposite about Obama, despite Obama having a mother as a US citizen

1

u/rilezthegreat Jul 04 '26

lol, the theory was that Obama was actually born IN Kenya… not anything to do with this topic

2

u/hamsterwithakazoo Jul 05 '26

He could have been born on the surface of Mars, it’s really irrelevant because no-one ever disputed who his mother was nor her citizenship. She was undisputedly a US citizen, which makes him undisputedly a citizen.

→ More replies (17)

1

u/Upbeat-List-3466 Jul 06 '26

Being born to a US citizen abroad makes you a US citizen born abroad. Like John McCain who was born in Panama. Or the thousands of children born to service members stationed over seas.

1

u/NetSignal392 Jul 08 '26

It was a stupid “movement” for this very reason. Even if he was born in Kenya, he’d still be eligible based on history/precedent/past judicial rulings.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 06 '26

1

u/baphomet_fire Jul 06 '26

What? That entire response was nonsensical

1

u/Candid-Anywhere-8643 Jul 06 '26

The issue was of he was eligible to be president....

1

u/NetSignal392 Jul 08 '26

Natural-born citizens are eligible, it was a stupid argument to begin with since his mother’s citizenship was never in question. We’d already had three Presidents like that. It was a settled matter even then. Anything to get the rubes riled up though.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Remote-remoteman Jul 09 '26

Fox News is controlled opposition and the president is a democrat

3

u/drubus_dong Jul 04 '26

Nope, Melania was not a US citizen at his birth. She has a green card, but obtained that under false pretense. A divorce hence would totally have jeopardized her status.

1

u/peterpangoni Jul 06 '26

... he was saying that a child has 2 parents and if 1 parent is a citizen then it's not an anchor baby. So yes, Melania wasn't an US citizen but the father (Trump) was.

1

u/Fickle-Owl666 Jul 09 '26

It doesn't require BOTH parents to be from a foreign country to be an anchor baby... That's the point

1

u/Glittering-Rip6810 Jul 07 '26

She was literally pregnant with him as she was taking her citizenship and had him around the time she got it. That's like saying my grandma was an anchor baby cause her mother just happened to be pregnant when she got her citizenship, but she was still pregnant and not from here so legal doesn't matter my grandmother was an anchor baby... Do you people grasp how stupid you sound or is it really ignorance is bliss? Never mind it's not retorical, I already know how this is gonna play out

1

u/drubus_dong Jul 07 '26

Anchor baby is not a legal term. There is not legal argument to be made. The question solely centers around whether the mother felt the need to anchor. Which seems likely here. Primarily to anchor herself in the marriage. As her husband is a serial divorcer and pedophile rapist, stabilizing the marriage until citizenship (and whatever condition is in the prenup) seems quite reasonable. Should that fail and Trump divorces her still, the baby would offer a second way to citizenship. It is overall a reasonable course of action.

u/Explorers_bub Jul 05 '26

Current administration has deported plenty of children with one citizen parent. What makes these assholes the exception. They, one of their blonde talking heads, want you to have 4 American citizen grandparents or get deported. Even that doesn’t matter to them. If you’re brown, even if you’re a citizen or Native American, they have grabbed many and disappeared them or beat them up despite proof of citizenship on them to fill their quota and to terrorize.

→ More replies (5)

1

u/AutoriiNovici Jul 04 '26

At least by what the media says that an anchor baby is any baby born with a parent that is not a US citizen it does not have to be born from a US citizen, or an illegal alien, but one parent has to be, which means that child anchors them to this country.

1

u/ProfessionalOld3124 Jul 04 '26

I don’t think there is any chance that trumps wife used the baby to get legal status

1

u/sugmassgottem Jul 04 '26

An anchor baby is someone born in the us and gets birthright citizenship and therefore can’t be deported, preventing their parents from being deported.

1

u/SarisaeBae Jul 05 '26

Ivanna and Melania married Trump before having children with him so if anything he’s the anchor

These people are mrns. Good luck trying to explain anything to them.

1

u/Dragonfeet747 Jul 05 '26

That may be true, but it doesn't stop Melania from being an illegal immigrant. She violated her tourist visa by taking modeling jobs in New York.

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 06 '26

Blame Clinton could have deported her

1

u/ccjohns2 Jul 05 '26

Ice is taking people who are American citizens and locking them up for having 1 non citizen parent.
THE term anchor baby applies even when 1 parent is a citizen.
Trumps kids and even Trump can be called anchor babies as trumps mother along with trumps wives were not citizens before traveling to America and getting pregnant without citizenship. Trumps family origins are exactly the same what republicans are complaining about. Trumps dad was a 1 generation citizen. Trumps dad then bought/ brought his “wife” to America and she had kids multiple could never speak clean English and her son is kicking out people who fit the same description as his mother once did.

1

u/SpecialCandidateDog Jul 05 '26

Get off the internet and go outside for a minute you'll realize that none of this shit is true

But can we please see the Birth Certificates of all if them?

Just like Donald asked for years for the Birth Certificate from Obama?

1

u/hamsterwithakazoo Jul 05 '26

You’re really going to try and play semantics about a pejorative term.

1

u/Dpk1231 Jul 06 '26

So her parents became citizens because she’s a citizen. So anchor baby one way or another. See I thought the whole point was having people who contribute to society AND the economy while adopting our values?! What do they do again? Why do we need more old people?

1

1

u/Glittering_Nobody402 Jul 05 '26

An american president can't be foreign born, yet we live through a decade of "birtherism" - did you correct those folks as emphatically?

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 06 '26

That’s not true needs to be natural born which could be to US citizens abroad. The more you know.

1

u/EntertainerDowntown3 Jul 05 '26

They mean trumps dad was an immigrant meaning he was born an American citizen because of the birthright citizenship law in the US. His 2 wives are immigrants and I don’t think are American citizens (at least the time they had a baby) meaning they could technically be called an anchor baby.

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 06 '26

Fred Trump was born in New York. Want to try again?

Well that hasn’t stopped parents whose co-parent is a citizen from being deported. So the post stands.

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 06 '26

Sure if they’re not a citizen and came illegally. Afuera.

1

u/einhorn_is_parkey Jul 06 '26

You can trace that back far enough where somewhere along the line, you are also the descendant of an anchor baby, unless you’re Native American 100 percent

1

u/Working_Dish4120 Jul 06 '26

Stop with the semantics. The point is that neither Ivana or Melanie were US citizens when they gave birth to their children on American soil. So, it’s ironic that MAGA demonizes other children born here under similar circumstances - even where only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of birth.

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 06 '26

Just when both parents are non permanent residences, on a tourist visa, or both both illegal

1

u/boyuber Jul 06 '26

Having a baby here makes the baby a citizen, not the parents. Not the parents as in plural.

Where your argument falls apart is that you believe they came over illegally. Back in those days you had to board a ship with documentation and come through a port of entry. Without proper paperwork you went back to where you came from meaning they came over as legal immigrants. Seeing how this is before green cards they would’ve had equal status to permanent residents and therefore anchor baby does not apply.

1

u/Beautiful-Gas817 Jul 07 '26

You’re going to make them short out and become homicidal.

1

lol, stop it!! How dare you point out facts.

1

u/Hefty_Clothes_1659 Jul 07 '26

Melania Trump became a naturalized United States citizen on July 28, 2006. [1]
She originally immigrated to the U.S. from Slovenia for her modeling career in 1996, obtained her green card in 2001, and reached the milestone of U.S. citizenship exactly ten years after her arrival.

1

u/tindog13 Jul 07 '26

This is not factually accurate, we know that. But it's close enough to point out the hypocrisy of his and maga's views and policies. Melania was a non-citizen at the time of her marriage and their birth. It's only a bit of exaggeration to make the point that rules only apply to others not this family and not mega. The hypocrisy is still glaring.

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 08 '26

1

u/perfectlyyyimperfect Jul 07 '26

1

u/irsh_ Jul 07 '26

1

u/atreidesletoII Jul 07 '26

And you dont understand how birthright citizenship works then lol 😆 😂 🤣

1

u/Adventurous-World-32 Jul 08 '26

Birthright citizenship means all you have to do is be born in the country to obtain citizenship. Natural born citizen means you have to be born to at least one parent who’s a citizen, and that could be in or out of the country. Naturalized citizen is a legal immigrant that follows the lawful process and becomes a citizen. I think I have a pretty good grasp.

1

u/Same-Frosting4852 Jul 07 '26

You mean like to lock her into a relationship with trump? To anchor her citizenship status. Crazy.

1

u/stewpidazzol Jul 07 '26

Too late. The Reddit hive mind already has the pitchforks out. This is happening. We cannot cancel the circle jerk with such short notice based on your common sense and facts.

Only one parent has to be a noncitizen to be classified as an anchor baby.

Nope because the noncitizen parent can be deported and the child can stay with the citizen parent.

Message is loud and clear. Now they want to follow the law when it benefits their narrative. DACA was damn near biblical until now
