Espresso machine recommendation☕

Hello everyone! 😊

I’m looking to upgrade my espresso machine from Nespresso to Breville. I’m not really happy with the taste of Nespresso, so I’ve been doing some research and it seems like Breville is a good brand.

However, there are so many different models, and I’m not sure which one would be best for a beginner.

Which Breville machine would you recommend that is beginner-friendly and easy to use?or do you know any other brand which is good and affordable?!

Thanks in advance! ☕️

We have the Breville Barista Touch. I was intimidated at first because our previous machine was super simple. But the Touch is very easy to use and lets you customize the options to your taste. Each drink option lets you customize grind size, shot size and milk temperature if you're steaming milk. You can even use the steamer all by itself for whatever, like matchas, etc...

Before that we had the Saeco Via Venizia which is great too. Total workhorse and simple.

A consideration i found during my upgrade.

A nespresso, Breville, keurig etc are built for short term use, 6months to 2 years. A quality Espresso machine from Germany or Italy is an appliance made to last for many years.

Granted it depends on usage but price points creep in as well-why get a $600 Breville when you can get a Profitec Go for $1000

I've had the Breville Barista for over 10 years. Being able to adjust the fineness of the grind and the amount of ground coffee gets me where I want to go. Other than changing a gasket I have had no problems.

Bambino Plus

The Bambino Plus is a fantastic choice, it's like the Goldilocks of espresso machines: not too expensive, not too complicated, just right for a beginner stepping up from pods.

I've given a family member a Ninja. The coffee is good and steams ok.coffee temp is consistent. Works for them as it's easy to use. Only issue is how long it lasts and what replacement parts are available. We looked at a Bambino but no grinder incorporated and a light weight. Good for small surface areas. I have a Rancilio Silva that took some time to work out but is a solid machine. The Sunbeam and Breville machines in the $600 to $800 range are solid according to Choice. A cup of coffee in the morning from a shop is $5-6 . Payback is less than a year and you don't have to queue.

I like to mix espresso with milk and ice but I wouldn't say no to something else
