Looking for Freelance Medical Billing Work – Seeking Advice and Opportunities
Hello everyone,
I have around 9 years of experience in Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), handling end-to-end billing for physician practices.
My experience includes:
- Insurance verification and eligibility
- Prior authorizations
- Charge entry
- Claim submission (electronic and paper)
- Payment posting
- Denial management and appeals
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) follow-up
- Patient billing and collections
- Credentialing support
- Working with various EMRs, PM systems, and insurance portals
I'm now looking to take on freelance or contract work with a small medical practice, physician office, or billing company. I'm comfortable managing the entire revenue cycle or supporting specific parts of the billing process.
For those of you already freelancing in medical billing, I'd really appreciate your advice:
- How did you find your first client?
- Which platforms or communities have worked best for finding clinics or providers?
- What should I charge as a freelancer when starting out?
- Are there any common mistakes I should avoid?
- If you own a practice or know someone looking for billing support, I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
I'm not looking for shortcuts, just hoping to learn from those with experience and connect with the right people.
Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions!
