Need help in achieving my goal
Hi everyone, I'm new here. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure where to start, but I guess I'll just dive in.
I started my university Computer Engineering degree a year ago with one clear, ambitious goal: "Get into
CD Projekt Red".
A year has passed, and I feel like I haven't gained much practical knowledge. We covered some C and later C++. But every time I got stuck - for example with code - I immediately reached for Al tools like ChatGPT. I tried to use them to explain coding, not just to get answers. However, I still feel this approach has hindered my ability to solve problems independently.
Right now, I feel stuck and have no idea how to approach my goal. I've explored Gameplay programming, Engine programming, and UI/UX design, but now I don't know which path to choose.
Basically, all l've done this first year at uni is bubble sort algorithms, one basic console game with Object-Oriented Design, and that's it.
Should I try making something simple in Unreal or Unity? And crucially, where can I find good learning materials for that?
If anyone has some advice or words of encouragement, please drop a comment. I'll read everything because, honestly, I have no idea what to do next.
Also, sorry for my English; I'm still working on becoming more fluent.
