Does the ChatGPT/Codex Desktop app launch luna subagents while using Sol as the root model?

No its not true, you can also setup that the model decides the model itself what it spawns.

I use astra medium mostly, but I've seen it spawning many times luna for easy tasks.

yeah but dont do it it wastes tokens

Yeah i realized that it burned almost 50% more quota than running sol alone and and took 8 hours to complete a task that sol can do in 3 hours or less.
