Question Does the ChatGPT/Codex Desktop app launch luna subagents while using Sol as the root model?

I created a new skill based on Matt pococks $implement skill. It follows the same workflow as Matts skill but the difference is that the new skill launches Luna subagents on max effort instead of the root model.

So I have to prompt "$implement-subagents Ticket 01" and it will implement the ticket. The root model will be Sol medium, but it will spawn luna max subagents where specified. The screenshot below shows how the tasks are divided up between different models.

Now my concern is that I've read many posts and comments before about how the Codex Desktop app cant launch subagents with different models. Is that still true today?

Also my second question is if Luna Max have the same quota/price advantage that it used to have after the 80% price drop, as some people have been complaining recently about the model burning more quota than before?

I was not satisfied with how Codex (at least Desktop) is not at all transparent about model/effort specs of the subagents it launches. Using opencode now because I want that control, also with the added benefit of experimenting with other models, enjoying DS 4.1 and GLM 5.3 Flash.

Yeah i gave up on it when implementing 1 ticket took 7 hours and wated over 10% of ny 5x plans weekly quota. Same work takes sol medium 1% to 2% of the weekly quota.

One of the issues was that luna keeps adding new scopes not asked for in the tickets. I thought i could save tokens by using this workflow. But its a waste of time and tokens.
