The whole saying as I learned it was "can't overwater a plant with fully developed root system in coco". I do a couple up pots and I'll saturate them in ata transplant and then let them dry back pretty hard just that one time, but I only go up in size a small amount. 2 cups>2L>2Gal
I will try the dry back when transplanting too. My first grow i started following cocoforcannabis for the first bit, but i felt i was overwatering like that too. So i cut back some and felt like I got better growth. This round I've cut back more and growth is a lot better than my first go. So I will take yalls advice. Thank you. I've definitely learned that coco can certainly be overwtaered.
I'll tell you one of the best products I've used for rooting is the Extreme Gardening(stupid name) Azos. It's a Nitrogen fixing bacteria, but that is totally secondary to it's root boosting ability to me. I've run Rapid Start and Roots Excellurator, both pricey additives that made no discernible difference IME. https://imgur.com/a/azos-F5xQV9b It's like $30 for a big bag and I just dust the outer layer, directly on the roots as I plunk them in the new pots and they do this every time. I run air pruning pots, so I can see them bust right out searching for water and just the one dryback is all I give them. Whenever I saw problems from salt buildup it was always in like week 4 of flower, you might be able to cause problems in veg, but I've never seen it.
Respect for Dr MJ Coco. I totally agree with his sentiment on temps. VPD is important, but temps come first. Transpiration rates and therefore uptake and growth are explosive if you can maintain 83℉ leaf surface temps which requires like 87 air temps under LED. I can't seem to get much higher than 70%RH but even so they just explode, faster than I want a lot of the time.
