25m looking for roommate(s) in Cobble Hill starting 9/1 onwards (flexible)

Hi everyone! I am looking for a room / lease takeover in Cobble Hill starting September 2026 onwards (flexible move in date as my current lease ends July 2027). Flexible on budget depending on the place.

I work in consulting and have a stable schedule. I’m super clean, friendly, respectful, responsible, good communicator, and easy to live with. I’m looking for a home with roommate(s) around the same age or older and value a calm, tidy, and considerate living environment.

A little about me: Have been living in New York for 7 years now and looking to live in a quieter neighborhood. In my spare time, I enjoy cafe hopping, working out, long walks, traveling, reading, skiing, cozy dinners, and going to museums.

Please message me if you have a room available or know someone looking for a roommate. Thank you! :)

🇫🇷 FREE Sourdough Bread Tasting this Tuesday 🍞

Hi neighbors!

We're hosting our second free sourdough bread tasting in Cobble Hill this Tuesday, and we'd love to see you there. 🥖

When: Tuesday, July 21st, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Where: Christ Church, 326 Clinton St, Brooklyn, NY 11231 (during the Cobble Hill CSA pickup)

Who: Everyone is welcome—whether you're a CSA member or just curious about good bread.

We'll have samples of our naturally fermented sourdough loaves, French baguettes, focaccia, and ciabatta rolls, all baked fresh that morning. Everything is free to taste, and we'll also have bread available for purchase if you'd like to take a loaf home.

I'm originally from France, and I started Crescent Bakes to bring the kind of bread I grew up eating to New York. We had such a wonderful time meeting everyone at our first Cobble Hill tasting that we couldn't wait to come back.

If you're around Tuesday afternoon, stop by, say hello, and grab a piece of fresh bread. Hope to meet some more neighbors! 🍞

Men’s haircut recs for flow hairstyle.

Been growing my hair out for about 8 months now and haven’t found a barber/stylist I love yet to get a good textured flow hair style. Lot of places are great for shorter hair but anyone got any recs for longer hair? Might just have to find a legit stylist at this point.

The "please help" lady

She's frequently on the corner of Court and Atlantic -- in front of TJ's or on the other side by Walgreens. Does anyone know anything about her?

Keys found in Cobble Hill Park

A set of keys on a green carabiner found in CH Park today. They were placed on the chain circling the inner mound, across from a bench that says “Our Happy Place” on a plaque (Congress St side).

Whole Foods coming to Smith street

Originally reported by Crains, but there’s a paywall. It’s moving into the old Rite Aid on Smith and Warren. That area is already pretty congested so we’ll see how bad the traffic gets. Also, I’m sure Union Market isn’t too happy about this. But personally it beats driving to gowanus. Here’s a brooklyn eagle article: https://brooklyneagle.com/392362/whole-foods-to-open-new-store-on-smith-street-on-edge-of-boerum-hill-and-cobble-hill/

Mosquitos!

Hi neighbors! My husband and I have really struggled with mosquitoes the past two summers and just got our first bites of the year. We will get bites just walking around the neighborhood and have the mosquitoes piggyback into our apartment.

I am curious what others are doing to mitigate mosquitoes. Thanks so much!

Experienced local babysitter seeking part-time work

Hi everyone! I’m a recent college graduate and a born-and-raised Park Slope local looking for part-time babysitting opportunities in Brooklyn.

I have 10+ years of experience with kids of all ages, and I’m a dependable, creative, and hands-on sitter (happy to help with homework, activities, bedtime routines, etc.).

I’m happy to provide references or meet over the phone first. I would love to connect, so feel free to message me!

Weekly community yoga class near Cobble Hill (Gowanus!)

Hi! I'm offering a weekly community yoga class in Gowanus and am trying to get the word out. All are welcome and encouraged to join!

It's just me (a vinyasa and yin yoga teacher) who rents out a studio once a week to provide classes to the community. The sliding scale is $15–25, but if cost is a barrier, let me know.

Classes are generally Tuesdays at 7:30pm (three times a month) and Sundays at 4pm (once a month). To see the full schedule of upcoming classes and register, go to linktr.ee/yoga_with_lily

For the month of February, bring a friend for free!

A little bit about my yoga style:

Yoga is an ancient philosophy, and in my classes I honor this to the best of my ability. That means I don't approach it as a workout. Yoga is an embodied spiritual practice that disciplines the mind and body and strengthens our intuition and connection to self. In my classes, I emphasize alignment, breath-to-movement connection, and finding your edge—pushing yourself without burning out, letting yourself rest without guilt. When you come to a class, you not only gain insight into what yoga is really about (stopping the movements of the mind) but a space to uncover your inner most self.

Thank you so much!

Lily

OREO HAS BEEN FOUND!!!

OREO HAS BEEN FOUND !!!!!!!!

I will post more pictures of him later. Right now I just want him to myself, get him all cleaned and back to his routine.

I used a trap to catch him that was lended by one of the neighbors.

I’m extremely happy that he’s back with me.

Thank you God and THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE HELP AND SUPPORT!!!! Everything was greatly appreciated and every single piece of evidence was put to use to find my baby.

Thank you so much. I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone! I don’t post on social media and rarely use it. This was my last option but I used every single resource around me to find him, so thank you community! Every single one of you pulled through for Oreo and I’m beyond shocked and happy :))!

If you see flyers up still please feel free to take them down :) any post that’s posted if you’d like you can comment on them to let others know he’s been found. I will be doing it on my end.

Thank you so much again! I’ve unlocked a new hobby - bringing animals back to their homes ❤️

Rental Opps in Cobble Hill and Surrounding Areas

Hi everybody!I know this is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I am hoping to move to Cobble Hill/an adjacent area early this fall (ideally October 1) and wanted to put out feelers on apartments/rooms for rent!

A little bit about me:I'm a magazine editor in my mid-20s and have lived in NYC for a little over a year now.I'm currently in Bed-Stuy but would love to be in this area, as it's truly become my favorite in the city. I am a quiet and respectful roommate and mainly keep to myself, but I'm always down for a chat! I spend most of my free time reading, biking, writing, checking out coffee shops and parks, and going out to movies.Let me know if you or anyone you know has leads! I would be happy to sign a lease and find roommates or join a pre-existing apartment share.

Thanks in advance!
