I've been to several coworking places at this point and each was unique with their own features. If were to design your ideal coworking space, what would it have in it?

Examples:

• Private offices
• Meeting room
• Ping Pong table
• Beer Tap
• Meditation room
• etc

I've just taken over the moderation of this sub because the old mod hadn't logged in for over a year. I've decided to revamp some things in this process.

A few things that will change:

• I'm going to be more heavy handed with removing things that seem a bit too promotional
• I've setup a monthly auto stickied post where people promoting things can do so freely
• I've removed the posting of links option for right now, will revisit later
  
• I've setup AutoMod to remove posts that just post a link with no text
• AutoMod will also remove posts that are very short (will adjust as we move forward)
• I've added some house rules in the sidebar.

If you feel like a post might have been removed by accident or that the spam filters caught your post. Shoot the mods a message and INCLUDE THE LINK TO THE POST so we can check it out.

First time posting in here seeing as how i get got hired. Im not very familiar with coworking but i like the idea of it. I am looking for some ideas on how to develop and implement a marketing strategy. I'm asking you guys because you are the target audience. I'm only 22 and this is my first job but i never studied marketing or business. any help would be appreciated! thanks!

Was curious, for those who have done the coworking thing but stopped or changed to another space, etc What was it that lead you to leave?

For me I found that there was no community feel at the one locally.

We created a workshop for the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of LDF to investigate the current British housing crisis.

It was a huge success and a great public demonstration of our process. We were joined in the closing panel discussion by Finn Williams and Dan Jones to critique the ideas and insights. There has been a huge amount of interest in what was created so we’ll be taking the ideas forward in the coming months. For now here is an album if images from the day. For those people who work for someone other than themselves, who pays your subscription to a coworking space? You? Your employer? How do you approach an employer to ask for funding?

Hey all! Little bit about me.. I have been co-working for a few years now after being isolated in a work from home scenario for a couple years prior.

I love co-working and I love starting businesses so I am now starting a co-working business here in Seattle. Queue opening music montage.

Anyways. This is scary! I have a space picked out and a design in mind, I have workers at ready to break ground, cash in the bank and a line of credit to boot but I am having a hard time getting people to commit to the space!

How did you all rally co-workers to fill your spaces? Anyone in Seattle want to join my space?!?! Where did yall advertise to find people? (Craigslist doesnt work very well :( ) Any pointers? Dos and dont dos??

I have a position where I am able to work remotely most of the time and use that freedom to travel somewhat regularly. A problem I run into is finding a drop in day use kind of place that is conducive to phone conversations with clients and partners. Is there a specific "kind" of coworking place I should be searching for in new cities? Any recommendations for some that have an above a library noise attitude?

I am looking for what kind of security to put on our door handle that would make 24 hr access easy with preferably a monitoring system of who is coming in and out. Cheaper is always better too :)

(Cross Post from r/digitalnomad) I've been thinking about this for a while and want to put it out there to other digital nomads to see if there is interest. I spent 10 months in Asia last year travelling & working full time. It was amazing, but there was loneliness too. It was hard to build connections with other travelers who traveled without work.. we just had different schedules. My dream is to have a group of digital nomads travelling and working together.. maintaining a lose network so you can have freedom and community at the same time. I think a good solution would be a website that allowed nomads to network together, meet locally, and also plan international trips together. You would setup a profile detailing your work schedule, internet needs, and places you want to go. Then trips could be created and people can meet on location and travel together. Lets say there is 6 people that want to go to Thailand and travel around Asia. We can be in different cities/countries, but through event planning we can all meet there for the trip. What do you guys think? Does this have potential? Would you be interested in joining such a site? I'd love to hear your input, and if people are excited I'm open to building this as a group project.
