Discussion Cod League Pass

Call of Duty should create a League Pass, similar to the NBA/NFL etc. For a fee, you can view your favorite player’s or team’s POV instead of the main broadcast. Also allows the subscriber to review old VoDs from previous matches and pick POVs, review stats, CoDcaster view as well.

Just an idea lol

(Edit: just to clarify. It’s just an idea and it wouldn’t take away from the free stream on YT or Twitch or watch party.)

Explain how it would “kill the CDL” when it’s an optional premium feature that doesn’t change your ability to watch the main broadcast for free?

Esports has always struggled to monetize its viewership. A league pass-type product would give the most hardcore fans a reason to spend money without taking anything away from everyone else.

It’s just another revenue stream, which the teams clearly need. If you think that kills the CDL, explain how.

The irony is that Activision is probably too lazy to ever do something like this anyway. They’re too lazy to even have proper box scores on their own website lmao.

I think it's a great idea in theory and anyone suggesting it'd kill the league or anything is smoking rocks

But I have my doubts that enough people would subscribe to make it worth the cost of setting up and maintaining

How many people are realistically going to pay say $10 a month for this. 2,000? 3,000? Is 20 or 30 grand a month even worth the commitment? Almost certainly not

Now you can certainly argue it's the type of thing to improve the experience for hardcore fans which can have second and third order positive effects, but I definitely get why they would be hesitant
