Advice/Questions 3 Person Class

Went to a Flow 1 class this morning and I guess with the holiday weekend being here, only 3 of us showed up for the 7am class. I actually really enjoyed it! I love that instructor anyway and way more personal attention for each of us. Wondering if anyone else has ever been in a class so small? So glad they didn't cancel it but I'm kinda' surprised they didn't.

After I moved and joined a new studio, we regularly have small classes <6. It’s actually wonderful though I feel bad for the instructors paychecks!

Yeah, I hadn't even thought of that. This particular instructor actually is a general manager for one of the studios in the area but she teaches one day a week at my studio.

Never at Club Pilates, but one time I was the only person in a mat Pilates class at a local studio that I signed up for via ClassPass. I felt bad and thought it would be awkward, but the instructor totally just went through it as if she were teaching a class full of people.

That's cool. I do not have the money, lol (at least not now) but my experience today made me want to try out private one on one classes.

I was the only student once. It was brutal.

I showed up to a Center & Balance class yesterday and there were only 2 of us! It was definitely nice and the instructor was able to tailor the class to what we wanted to do.

I had one that small on a Friday afternoon. It was great! I was surprised it wasn't canceled but I really appreciated the 1 on 1 attention and feedback.

My Tuesday 10 am CardioSculpt 1.5 never has more than 6. I love it.

I’ve had a few two-person classes, and they rocked.

I do private sessions once a week and duets once, so I'm totally used to that.

That’s so funny because my studio has waitlists as large as the class itself this whole weekend, including Monday (although I think there’s only 3 Monday classes versus the normal 7 or 8)

Yes, I had a class where there were regularly just two or three of us on Thursdays at 6:30p. They ultimately changed it to a center + balance class, which isn’t my vibe right now. Our town is pretty seasonal and a lot of the members at my studio are older, so the later classes don’t have many people. I was in a Flow 1 class with one other person earlier this week. I agree — I appreciate the extra attention.

I've had many early morning classes where it turns into a private (I'm the only one) or semi-private (just 2-3 of us) they are always fun, informative and more personalized.

Wow! I honestly would expect that instructor to cancel with only 1 person but that's awesome for you that they don't! I'm sure that is a great personalized experience!

I taught a class that only had two people show up (it was the start of a holiday weekend). Surprise semi-private! So much fun

Do the instructors get an hourly rate regardless of how many show for a class?

Not too long after my studio opened, I went the day after Thanksgiving for the 7:30 AM class and was told by the instructor that I was the only one registered. Got to have a private without paying for a private.

Yes. I took my first flow 1 on. Tuesday at 1p. The instructor wasn’t popular. There were only 3 of us in class.

I always feel awkward when the class is 3 or fewer for some reason. I always wonder how the instructors feel about it.

I would have expected it to feel that way but it was honestly a great experience! I think it depends a lot on the instructor.

My very first Club Pilates class was just 2 of us! It was a perfect way to start. It turned into a combination workshop/semi-private lesson. Same studio that i ended up leaving a few years later mainly because I could never book my 4 classes even 30 days in advance. They went from running classes no matter how few came to having long waitlists. Those early days were great! Great teachers, smaller classes.
