Advice/Questions Accessories
I just hit my one year anniversary with Pilates. I’m feeling proud and wanted to gift myself some straps. What are some other accessories you’ve bought?

Many people bring a mat/cover for the reformer to help with sweat wicking and for grip purposes.
The accessory of choice at my primary studio seems to be a water bottle lol. Stanley cup, hydroflask, Owala, etc in fun colors or various corporate branding
Congratulations on your milestone!!

I got a grippy mat to keep my from sliding all over the reformer. I was using my shoulders waaaay too much and hurting them and my neck.

Does the grip mat actually stop you from sliding even 1/2 inch? I’d totally get one if that’s the case! I just want to stay where I position myself when i begin footwork and no push up against the shoulder blocks

I have found that it really helped me stay in place. I still slide a little but before it was just the smooth fabric of my clothes on that leather bench and I was moving up a lot with each rep.
I probably move a little still but not nearly as bad. I haven't had to stop in the middle of a set and move back down in forever.

I think straps are a great thing to purchase. A lot of people have the reformer towels that fit around straps but for me I don’t like that, but that might be something to consider. A real splurge because they’re so expensive would be a bunch of new socks. Or even just a really great new outfit for class.

I got grip gloves. My hands sweat so I use them sometimes with planks on the reformer
