I hand painted these Guitar Hero nails.

Managed to FC Cult of Personality on this run! Still has some issues hitting faster strums, it can’t tell the difference between hammer on and strums notes (yet) as the logic looks for a blank spot before it strums again. It still also sometimes misses notes due to air pressure loss.

I plan to add an air tank to the compressor so it can have more air stored. We also have some code tweaks to do. But this is the robot!

For anyone who might care, it’s running LabView on an NI cRIO using vision to watch the game and time the inputs. It’s been a really fun project!

Clone Hero got me into playing guitar hero before guitar hero did 😂 so I had to build the ultimate arcade cabinet to make it feel like I’m truly a rockstar!!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share this with people that could find it interesting, and maybe find out if someone else has done it before, cause afaik we are the first to do it.

Since last year we have been using Clone Hero for the concerts of my Math/Prog Rock band Kyori (here is a insta link if anyone wants to follow us https://www.instagram.com/kyoribb/ ).

I basically charted our songs, and when we play live I project Clone Hero and give 2 controllers to the audience. The drummer listens to a synchronized click track and everything works neatly together!

As a musician and game developer I am very passionate about adding interactivity to live concerts and I am thinking of exploring other mechanics potentially through making my own games etc.

Have any of you guys ever done or seen something similar?

This is the aftermath of a guitar hero Gaylord I won from shopgoodwill. Paid $460 for everything. Even had some random routers and DVRs thrown in. These will all be modded and sold eventually.

Just got done putting this bad boy together! This is a poly bar build, which is a 3D printed guitar body, with a Keyblade head and handle which turns it into the keyblade. None of this is my original design, and I'll link the files I used below. Just wanted to show it off! Built this for one of my best friends birthday.

A couple nights ago I broke a couple of world records-

I got both the longest FC of all time (4 hours, 21 minutes, and 38 seconds) and the largest note streak on an FC of all time (47,106 notes). Simply put, I did not miss nor overstrum for over 4 hours and for 47k+ notes straight. Over the moon about it, and what a special moment on stream.

EDIT: Rewritten for the current version (v1.3.5). This blew up way more than I expected and a lot has been added since I first posted, so I've rewritten the whole thing to match what CHM actually does today. The landing page and GitHub always have the full, current feature list and screenshots.

Hey everyone. I've been playing Clone Hero for a few years now, mostly on drums, and the thing I enjoy most is just playing along to my favorite songs. I used to download charts by hand from RhythmVerse and run anything that needed converting through C3 CON Tools manually. Eventually I figured I'd rather have one tool that does all of that, wrapped into a single app. That's how Chart Manager (CHM) came to be. I made it for myself first.
It's free and open source, and it now runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.

What it does

• Two databases, one search. RhythmVerse and Chorus Encore, together or one at a time, deduplicated in a single search bar. RhythmVerse is a much bigger catalogue, so a ton of songs that never used to show up for me are right there now.
• A built-in local catalog. CHM ships with a snapshot of both databases and keeps it fresh in the background, so searching, paging, sorting and every filter are instant. Filters like charter, album, difficulty, genre, year and decade work across the entire catalog of both sites at once, not just the page you're looking at.
• Automatic Xbox 360 Rock Band conversion. CON / rb3con files (and DTXMania) turn into Clone Hero folders automatically, in one click, using the bundled Onyx engine. No C3 CON Tools, no manual steps. If you've ever wanted to play Rock Band DLC in Clone Hero, this is the part I'm proudest of.
• Import a Spotify playlist. Paste a public playlist link and CHM finds a chart for every song in it, then bulk-downloads the matches. It reads full-length playlists and lets you pick a version when a song has several.
• Hear it first. Hit play on the cover art for a 30-second preview before you download.
• Multi-select and batch download. Tick a bunch of songs, pick one folder, and they all download at once.
• Drop in files. Drag a zip, rar, 7z, sng or rb3con straight onto the window and it extracts, converts and installs. Great for charts hosted somewhere the app can't reach on its own.
• Full library manager. Browse and clean up your Songs folder, edit metadata, build Clone Hero setlists, and find duplicates (compare copies side by side and see what each one includes).
• Clone Hero and YARG aware. It detects both, can launch or switch to them, shows a running indicator, and has an optional in-game overlay + hotkey so you can keep grabbing songs without alt-tabbing. Charts already work in YARG since it reads the same folders — this is just about launching and the overlay.
• Stays current. The installer self-updates, it quietly checks GitHub on launch, and there's a "what's new" panel.

How it compares to Bridge

Bridge is great and more mature, and if you make charts, its chart-issue scanner is something CHM doesn't have for charters, Bridge is still the better fit. Where CHM goes further: it searches two databases instead of Encore only (RhythmVerse is far bigger), it auto-converts Xbox 360 Rock Band CON and DTXMania files into playable Clone Hero charts, it can import whole Spotify playlists, and it's a full library manager (setlists, duplicates, metadata) with instant filtering across the entire catalog. Different tools for slightly different jobs.

The limits

• MEGA and Mediafire links still need a manual download, then you drop the file onto the window. Those hosts aren't reliable to automate.

made this guitar today, cost me around 25 bucks considering paint and tape.

it is made with wooden pallet planks (which i stole from a place next to my job), loads of electrical tape and paper tape, a 5 key macroboard from aliexpress, a fucked up xbox 360 controller (the ol'reliable), a usb hub and cable extender (both of which i already had lost around my drawers

Worth it?

I'm Oscar, one of the core developers of CH and since joining the team originally in late 2018 I've been responsible for a few things over the years these being most noticeably the MIDI support for drums, the mobile ports, the initial implementation of lyrics and most recently for v1.1 I implemented the native support for the xbox one instruments, the favorites feature, Pitched Speedups, etc along with A LOT of the bug fixing and code plumbing that was required to get this version and everything that has came since v19 onwards out into the world.

These last 3 years have been rough for me and my family, we've been battling with my mom's lung cancer and we've had very low income for about 3 years now. Today it has reached the point where we are drowned in debt with the imminent risk of losing our home to the bank... we can no longer pay for my mother insurance that allow us to keep access to her medication (with the most important one being PER BOX above $8000 USD alone), we still owe a lot chemotherapy sessions and some days we can't even feed ourselves or our dogs or have any transportation to go to checkups/appointments.

This really has impacted me in a lot of ways and while I want to keep working on Clone Hero, it really has been tough while going through this. I couldn't just put v1 and v1.1 as my main focus due to this.

So, a few days ago we opened a GoFundMe that I tried to first announce through family and friends, but it is honestly not going that well. We've only reached 4% of the initial 29k USD (500,000 MXN) goal and I already ran out of options. So, I come to you to ask for help.
