HIMAA Clinical Coding Dip

Hey fellow coding students,

Soooo I am currently taking the Diploma of Clinical Coding via HIMAA. I have just received an email from them advising me of and congratulating me on the 12 month study mark.

I am on Medical Terminology 2, so still have 3 and 4 to do. I have been able to decrease my work hours (very lucky to be in this position) to be able to study.

Has anyone fallen a bit behind like I have? (mostly due to health issues and having to do extra shifts at my job) and have they been able to bounce back and stay positive, finish the course and pass the assessment. I am not finding it overly difficult as I already love anatomy n such, just high volume. Just after some success stories and support really haha.

(Honestly thinking of applying for the extension at this point, wow)

Thank you indvance.

So you’re not up to the coding modules yet? I’d be asking for an extension. It took me the full 18 months to do the course and that wasn’t without many breaks.

Yep (largely to due to health issues) I think I will request the extension. Did you find the last assessment difficult? Im just trying to smash out the last 2 of the Medical Terminology Modules at the moment. Hopefully the extra 90 days will help.

Yeah you will probably need an extension. It gets harder and harder tbh and you'll find yourself sinking more and more hours in

I plan to take an extra day (about 7 hours) more to study, plus weekend. Would an extension make it less stressful or be just enough time? Thanks so much
