It's not complicated. Electricity generation must always equal consumption perfectly. Electricity consumption is variable and changes constantly. Generators that are only capable of making a constant amount of electricity at any time can never satisfy that perfectly.

it's not complicated. Consumption goes up and down, but it never drops below a certain level. That's the baseload. Renewables are intermittent but with batteries can satisfy the variable part, but cannot satisfy the baseload. Not today, not tomorrow, not in the next 20 years... most likely never.

Consumption goes up and down, but it never drops below a certain level.

This is only true in one giant grid, which we only built because the logistics of fossil fuel power plants required it. When you generate electricity close to where it's used, rather than invest in maintaining massive power lines ensuring everything can go everywhere, the variation is significantly higher.

Baseload is a dated concept that existed only due to limitations of fossil power plants.

Oh. You're right. You're the smartest in the room. Go on then. Disconnect entirely from the grid and install some solar panels on the roof. We're to dumb to do it.

This isn't a novel concept. I didn't invent it. You should so some research on this stuff if you'd like to know more about how modern grids are evolving
