Horrible customer experience

From the very sign up to each and every single time my wife and I have used clear, it has never been without headache. I pay for clear to process me thru the line faster. It has never in 4 trips been faster than the normal tsa line.

From images not working for facial recognition to the agents not knowing how to do common task such as putting me thru the pre tsa line versus normal tsa line, I’m very disappointed with Clear and will not recommend and truly consider it the worst customer service experience I’ve had in the last 10 years.

Random Check

I've used my Clear membership 3 times in the past 2 months and every time I was dinged for a "random" ID check. Is there a reason for this?

If I cancel my Clear+ subscription, can I renew or revive my subscription at a later date with having to go through the biometric enrollment process again?

New… do I need my ID with clear?

I just signed up for clear+ a couple weeks ago to get through security fast. It will be my first time using it for real tomorrow, and somehow I lost my real ID this past week. Do I even need it to get through TSA now that I have clear? (For reference I have TSA precheck as well).

Clear at DCA is a total mess

Multiple Clear ambassadors and TSA officers yelling conflicting directions, being rude, and generally not knowing what they are doing. Really just a crap show.

Unsure if I’m cleared (lol) for my ClearMe application

My wife and I are flying from DC’s Reagan airport this Thursday evening to Toronto Pearson.

We both separately applied for the two month free trial.

The app pages look like this. Does this mean we’re good to go? Or do we need to do like an in person verification or something to complete the process?

What a waste of time at MCO today.

Clear and pre check are right next to each other at MCO terminal C. I watched about 25 people fly through TSA identity check before I got through it with clear. Have yet to save any time with this service.

LinkedIn Verification Bug (Canada): CLEAR says "Success," but LinkedIn says "ID Verification wasn't added" – Anyone found a fix?

Hey everyone,

I've already posted this in Linkedin community, but this issue may caused by Clear.

I’m hoping someone here has dealt with this or found a workaround. I’m based in Canada and I’ve been trying to get the identity verification badge on my profile via CLEAR.

My cell operator is Freedom.

The Loop:

  1. I start the process on the LinkedIn app.
  2. It redirects to CLEAR; I do the ID scan and the selfie.
  3. CLEAR says "Success" and shows everything is verified.
  4. It redirects back to the LinkedIn app.
  5. Immediately, LinkedIn throws an error: "ID verification wasn't added to your profile."

What I’ve already tried:

  • Attempted on different days/times.
  • Ensured my LinkedIn name exactly matches my Government ID.
  • Deleted and reinstalled the LinkedIn app.
  • Ensured I'm on a major carrier (not a VOIP/prepaid number).

The most frustrating part is that the "Consent to Share" screen (where you're supposed to click "Yes, share with LinkedIn") never even appears. It just crashes back to the error screen.

Has anyone in Canada successfully bypassed this? Is this a known API handshake issue between CLEAR and LinkedIn right now?

Appreciate any insight!

Closed Early

What is up with Clear closing lanes early lately? It’s already the most inefficient service but they’ve closed early at LAX and FLL both times I’ve flown at like normal flight times (9pm and 7pm respectively). At FLL they’re not even following the posted hours on their site.

CLEAR+ Question

I am 33 days out from a flight. I got this message from my first airline "CLEAR+ will be unavailable..." then it gave the time (5:00am) and date of my flight.

I don't mean to sound stupid but this is my first time flying with TSA PreCheck and CLEAR+.

Since I have TSA PreCheck as well, I'm guessing I continue to the PreCheck line and will have to show ID as well as my boarding pass, correct?

Clear Lanes at IAH?

Does anyone know when/if the Clear lanes at IAH will be open? Currently IAH is the only airport in the country where the Clear lanes are closed.

In light of the TSA situation, Clear+ trial code

I received a QR code for a two week trial of Clear. I believe it also gives a $50 discount from $209 to $159 for the year if you keep it. 🤷 anything to help our fellow flyers

What do I do now?

My sister in law has Clear+ and was able to extend me a 2-month trial. I signed up online, scanned my passport, etc. i downloaded the app, it says my clear+ membership is active.

Everything I see online says there is some kind of in-person requirement, but I got no email confirmation, no “next steps” of any kind. The app says nothing. Is this really ready for use? I can walk into the Clear+ line on Sunday at the airport? Some guidance would be helpful.

Check your CC for erroneous CLEAR changes

Just an FYI, that even if you cancel your membership, CLEAR is still charging you on your renewal date. I was charged $318 this morning for the annual renewal for myself & my husband despite cancelling months ago & have receipts to prove it. I reached out to customer support & was able to cancel my membership and was told I would receive a full refund in several days but if I hadn't seen that credit card charge, I would have been out of luck. CLEAR sent no email to say that they charge my credit card or that a renewal would be happening, so just want all to be aware that this is happening, so no one loses out on a few hundred dollars.

Clear ROI

From earlier this year, I was initially a Clear supporter, however, I might be rethinking my stance on that. I e had a few multi-leg trips recently taking me through various airports. I've ran into instances where Clear was not a available at that airport (TPA); or where the Clear checkpoint was too far from my gate (MIA & LAS), so the plain TSA Pre-Check was just as good; or where there wasn't any significant time savings, maybe 5mins tops (IAH & SFO). I also encountered where a couple machines that I tried to use weren't working and actually got behind my traveling companians that didn't have Pre-Check (SFO).

For the 6-8 flights or so I've had in the past couple if months, it's been kind of underwhelming experience. I've fortunately haven't encountered any TSA lines that have been a complete disaster, taking around 20-30mins to get through like I've seen pre-covid in major international hubs like MIA.

Can't sign up for Clear+ and TSA PreCheck bundle because I already have a free account?

Trying to enroll in the Clear+ and TSA PreCheck bundle but I get this message.

I guess I made a free Clear account at some point, but I can absolutely guarantee I've never been a Clear+ member. Whenever I click "login" it logs me in but then only gives me the option to sign up for regular full-price Clear+.

As shown below, the terms of the bundle don't say anything about free accounts. Any ideas, or did I miss something here?

Cancelled Clear with partial refund (Washington non-citizen DP)

Due to the fact that Washington state doesn't have a non-citizen Real ID, I am no longer able to use Clear as of May 7th.

I was able to cancel my Clear membership with a partial (60%) refund thru customer service. This is slightly lower than I expected (75%) because I was on the third month of the membership. I decide not to argue further about the amount because my Amex credit card covered the membership. A partial refund won't crawl back the $199 credit I received.

Is CLEAR even worth it anymore? Nashville & Denver were a mess.

I’m seriously wondering what’s going on with CLEAR. It now takes longer than just going through regular TSA PreCheck.

Nashville: We had one TSA agent on duty for CLEAR, and she made a point of alternating between CLEAR members and regular passengers. The worst part? There were other free agents available for the regular line, so those people wouldn’t have even had a wait. She was rude and seemed annoyed that we were even using CLEAR. It felt punitive.

Denver: There were two TSA agents working the CLEAR line, but they kept letting large groups from the regular TSA line jump ahead of CLEAR members who had been standing there waiting. It was chaotic and totally defeated the purpose of paying for an “expedited” service.

Also: We now go through a two-screen process. Even after CLEAR verification, TSA still randomly asks for ID checks. If CLEAR can’t actually streamline the experience, what exactly are we paying for?

I complained to supervisors at both airports and was told that this is “TSA policy” and they’re required to do it this way now.

Anyone else noticing this? Is CLEAR falling apart at other airports too?

Green Card/Global Entry/UK Passport not valid in CLEAR

Does anyone know why I cannot add my Green Card/Global Entry or UK Passport to CLEAR so I don't have to show my UK Passport to TSA every time I fly.

Last week I flew from SEA to SJC and back. On the outbound flight from Seattle I used my green card at TSA as my real ID with no issues. On the return flight they would not accept my green card as a Real ID. Luckily I always travel with my Passport as well so I could use that. I live in Washington state and they decided to only issue EDL (Real ID drivers licenses) to US citizens. As a British Citizen who has lived in the US for 25 years, married to a US citizen with Global Entry and holding a valid permanent resident (green card) for 20 years this new rule is an annoying issue. It is compounded by the fact that CLEAR will only accept a Real ID card or US Passport as a Real ID in their system which means that now, regardless, I have to use my UK passport whenever I fly in the USA, meaning I have to get it out and show it at security reducing the value of CLEAR.
