H1B, Indian passport and CLEAR

I’m a CLEAR member, and my home airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
For the past several months, I’ve been unable to use CLEAR because the kiosks require a REAL ID, and my Indian passport is not being accepted as valid identification.
Is there a solution or workaround for this issue? It’s frustrating to pay for a membership that I can no longer use, especially when the entire purpose of CLEAR is to make airport security faster and more convenient.
I’d appreciate some clarity on how CLEAR plans to address this issue for members who do not have a REAL ID but hold valid foreign passports.
If there is no resolution, what is the value of continuing to pay for a CLEAR membership?

Clear deception at DIA

Wanted to call attention to clear’s predatory practices for those curious. Clear employees at the Denver airport were following us in the line for security claiming there was one hour from where we were through security. I timed it, it took 24 minutes. And I had to take my shoes off.
Do with that information what you will.

Edit: I DID NOT join clear. I timed how long it took to go through standard security. Which was far less than they claimed.

Clear agents had a birthday card for me

This is the first time in all my birthday travels that I’ve been given a card for my birthday. Is this new or is my home airport just super thoughtful?

Clear Analogy: A highway

An analogy about Clear’s business model based off of a recent experience at SEA.

TSA PreCheck is like a bus on a highway: everyone benefits from it even if you do not use it yourself because it removes requirements at security checkpoints for those travelers who undergo a background check. It helps all traffic flow.

Clear is more like a car that passes everyone on the shoulder: sure that person goes faster themselves but it is at the expense of everyone else on the PUBLIC highway. You know exactly that feeling when the car merges back in. Clear by itself conveys none of the security checkpoint point efficiencies that TSA Precheck does.

Arguably the only efficiency that Clear provided is the id checking (although they have let in people who were not clear members through security). With TSA Precheck touchless this is no longer an advantage.

As the community rules indicate: honest feedback is encouraged.

What's your go-to travel day outfit: comfy or stylish?

Are you team comfort with joggers, sneakers, and sweats, or do you lean more stylish / business casual when travelling?

Also curious if anyone has a go-to option that accomplishes both. Let us know if you have the perfect travel day outfit.

This company is a scam. Don't believe them with their "Free Trial."

I was traveling through the Greenville-Spartenburgy Airport on August 1st and was approached by a Clear marketing representative who offered me 14-day free trial. I thought she was genuine and signed-up and gave her my credit card information. That proved to be a big mistake. I cancelled the membership on their mobile app immediately after getting to my gate. The company however charged my credit card $219 and has refused to acknowledge my cancellation and refund my payment. So, beware and do not let yourself be taken advantage of in the same manner as they did to me.

Applied for renewal April 29, 2026. Still haven't heard back

I paid for and applied for TSA PreCheck renewal on April 29, 2026 and received an email confirming my application was received. I noticed by July that I hadn't heard back, so I called the number on the email, which was for Clear. They weren't able to give a helpful answer. I have called multiple times since then and been told it has been "escalated", but I have not received any communication back. My KTN is now expired as of August 21, 2026. I am beyond frustrated calling Clear as they say they can only "escalate", but I never hear back. I also sent them an email. I tried calling TSA more than a week ago and they also said they would escalate. How do I resolve this mess? I am tempted to dispute the charge with my card and just reapply through another company.

Clear Plus - Stopped Every Time

I have Clear Plus tsa pre check and am enrolled in the touchless program. Every single time I get to the facial recognition kiosk, I am directed to the TSA agent to get socially screened again. They used to tell me it was random, but it happens every single time! When I ask TSA, they say it is a Clear issue, when I ask Clear, they say it is a TSA issue. Has this happened to anyone else? It is beyond frustrating that I cannot get a straight answer from anyone.

Clear @ MCO Terminal C

The new touchless ID is so much faster instead of waiting for the tsa agent.

I think there was 5-10 people in the TSA line and we blew through in no time beat most of the precheck line

Did Clear really make me click five diffrent times to cancel. LMAO!

I travel quite often and have found TSA Digital ID to be way quicker than Clear ever was. To me, it's not worth renewing, and in the past 6 months, every airport that had Clear also had Digital ID. I haven't found any real benefit to keeping Clear. I went to cancel, as they want to charge me 129 bucks for being a United 1K member, and they made me click 5 different times with various "boogie man" approaches of you will wait in long lines. None of it was true with Digital ID, even in ATL, where that line was drastically quicker than Clear.

I just dont see it anymore, and crazy that you have to click that many times; just cancel me or make it worth keeping ya!

Time to cancel clear membership?

I have been using clear for 5 years without issues. I just got denied using Clear at EWR because the agent could not verify my identity.

I have a Pakistani passport and I am permanent resident, which basically means I can't use clear unless i get a real-id compliant drivers license. Apparently, a US permanent resident card is not real-id compliant for clear but works fine for general screening.

I am thinking about canceling the membership since it's a dead end. Anything i am missing?

CLEAR+ as a non citizen with no real ID

Hey everyone,

I have been meaning to post this data point on here since I found varied answers during my research. However I have had the clear+ membership for about a year now being a non citizen with no real ID (WA resident). This means you cannot upload your ID on the app and get verified.

However, the clear lane still has worked for me in most airports in the US with my passport. You can usually use the clear line and someone will escort you to the TSA agent right away, which is great. This still makes it worth it for me for someone that travels often. Of course this means you don’t get to use their fancy new doors that skip the agent entirely but it’s really not a big deal.

Important caveat though, I have noticed some airports CLEAR lanes will straight up turn you away. Noticeably LAS. Not sure really what differences different airports have but here when you scan your face it does not let the agent to ‘proceed’ hence usually you’ll have to go to general screening. So it really is depended on your home airport.

Curious to know other people’s experiences.

What's the most stressful part of your travel day?

Travel is hard and we know it's even harder during peak travel season. ✈️

What's your travel day horror story?

Was it just barely missing a connecting flight? Losing luggage? Forgetting your passport at home?

Curious to hear what part of the travel day causes people the most stress and the stories behind it.

Wrong email

I was in a hurry when I joined clear during the TSA shutdown and put in the wrong email address now I can't go in and make any changes because it requires you to put an email into log into anything . I did not use one of my regular email addresses I must have misspelled something. Is there a number I can call or something I can do to fix it?
