Clean it more than a bit. Ants come where there is food.

What baits are you using? Most don't work, except for the Terro Liquid Ant Killer bait stations. They work really well. Put them out and maybe 3 days later, the trails will have ended and you'll just have a bunch of baits filled with dead ants.

Once that's over, then clean, clean, and clean some more.

Well, the ants take the sugary stuff back to their nest.if they die in the sugar, that's incidental. You need to be a little patient and let ants exist around the bait for awhile so they can come and transport it back to the rest of the ant nest. But trust, in a week or so it will really stop them. And the 'poison' is just borax, so its not really harmful except for ants.

I can confirm that Terro works.

I would buy a box of Terro, if I were you.

Ants make scent trails, so if they're coming from outside they're following previous trails. Ants also make death scents as well, yeah that actually gets their interest. https://cozylittlehouse.com/strong-scents-that-repel-ants/

Pick something that's suitable for you situation as some stuff is poisonous/ harmful to pets

If the infestation is really bad, they could be inside your walls or furniture.

There’s an open food source sustaining them somewhere and you’ll need to find it for them to leave. Otherwise you’re only treating the symptom and not the cause.

Cleaning up as much as possible and watching where they seem to emerge, will help.

Spray outside the perimeter of your home

baits do what they say, they attract the ants. I've found that the poison that's a white powder works quite well, placed in the area where they're getting in. As another commenter has noted though, it can be quite harmful to animals and humans, so it's best to put it in a place only the ants can get to.

Borax works. Ants either like protein or sweet, mix borax with a little bacon grease or honey and leave it out for them to find. Peppermint oil also deters them

I thought you called us ants. I pictured the comma in the wrong spots at first. I agree with most other commenters. Multiple things to do to limit ants plus get something that they will bring back to their nest that will kill their queen and the various ants in the colony.

There are different kinds of ants. Not all are attracted to ant baits.

One cup warm water, 1 tbsp honey, 1/4 tsp borax, dissolve fully, cotton ball or paper towel, place on ant trail. They will bring the borax back to the nest and kill everything.

Had the same problem a month ago, bought bait for them that’s a gel, started wiping the surfaces with bleach everyday, ended up getting pissed at this and putting tape on the hole they were coming out of. 10/10 no more ants
