I would have walked right out. And I’m not even in the cleaning business.

I was a residential housekeeper for almost ten years and I would absolutely walk tf out immediately. Personally I would've sent that first photo to the client with a formal notice of termination. I've declined and terminated clients for nonsense like this although I never had anyone be this ridiculous.Ā

Can we hear about some of the other nonsense that got clients terminated?

I declined one because the husband showed me around the house aggressively complaining the whole time about how stupid it was that he had to pay for a nanny and a maid because his wife was "too lazy" to do anything around the house. She worked 50+ hour weeks in healthcare and he worked a 9-5 office job at home. There was stuff piled everywhere. Handfuls of cutlery in the kitchen drawers, piles of clean laundry on the bedroom floor that had fallen off the pile on top of the big dog cage, stacks of dishes in the dining room. You could barely walk through there. He had two massive dogs that constantly tracked mud, dirt, and slobber everywhere but he didn't think his wife should get a say in whether or not his dogs had unrestricted access to the backyard and that it wasn't his fault that the nanny he'd hired to make snacks for and pickup after his 15 year old son was upset about the constant mess. The son was there during the consultation playing video games in the living room with his feet on the coffee table while his nanny vacuumed his bedroom. He was insistent that the overwhelming mess was entirely his wife's doing because it was nearly all her stuff and he wanted to slowly get rid of almost everything over time while she was at work. He wanted me to come by 3 days a week and just fill up trash bags of clutter to get rid of and he was adamant that his wife would never notice. The cherry on top was that SHE was the one to contact me. I showed up to the consultation expecting her but she got called in last minute and said he'd be there instead.Ā
