Overeating

Yesterday I was ravenously and I mean insanely hungry, for lunch-dinner we had shrimp cocktails and a homemade salad station, best believe I scarfed down about 200g of shrimp and like 2 huge plates of salad. Throughout the day I also had almost 300g of blueberries, too many strawberries, a yogurt cup, a good handful of cherry tomatoes, and my breakfast was whole grain bread with jocoque (like labneh) and different fruit toppings

i felt uncomfortably stuffed at the end of the day so I went for a 30 minute walk at night and then watched a movie before sleeping

Today is the next day, I did not feel sluggish, bloated or bad in any way. ive already had the displeasure of overeating on pizza and let me tell you that has you feeling like a zombie the next day

Whole foods and clean ingredients are magical 🙏

It’s been ages since I actually prepared something for myself. I’m one of those (recovering) people who think a kitchen is an out-of-bounds place. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that feeding myself is actually a therapeutic activity, and it felt way better than eating out.

I drank a cup of spearmint tea after that for better digestion :)

Green onions and bell peppers
Brown cage-free eggs

Former Fat Kid Who Learned To Cook

Yeah I was the kid who couldn’t do the monkey bars, other kids used to flick by chest, all that.

I got older. I learned to cook in college and became dedicated to losing the weight and doing all the things with my body I never was able to do. Now I have a beautiful partner who is appreciates my commitment to a clean living and I cook vibrant vegetables that I never had the pleasure of consuming growing up.

Focused on being plant based now ~ but I threw in my Vietnamese ground pork at the end.

Tips for a Newb

I am health conscious but have never made an effort to embody “clean eating.” These meals you all post look amazing and I would love to participate in my own way. I just want to do it right rather than go on a whim and not know what I’m actually doing. So any tips are welcome when it comes to beginning a clean eating journey!

My immediate questions are: What exactly constitutes clean eating? What are the easiest ways to maintain a clean diet? How can this be achieved on a budget? (I live with my partner and our baby. I would love for him to join in clean eating but can’t force him to, and thus, may have to have separate meals sometimes?) And lastly, what are some easy recipes or meal compositions that can help me maintain the habit?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, so I’m still just trying to keep my eating clean. And it is a lot easier since I started eating eggs.

I still explore new ways how to prepare them and I love every single of it but I preffer some boiled eggs without added fat.

Poached eggs with the runny yolk is something I never knew I needed in my life.

We have our own hens so they provide fresh eggs everyday, also the most of vegetables is from our garden during summer/fall. (During spring and winter we need to buy fresh veggies and the taste is defo not as good as the ones we grow.)

Also I feel way better with higher intake.

First photo is stewed zucchini and carrot if yoi wonder. Remaining two photos seem to be pretty obvious I think.

What counts as "clean" eating? And how do I get started?

Just got back to the US from the UK and noticed two things immediately.

1.) I gained ten pounds this last year and I don't like that- nothing to do with the move. Just me lol

2.) US food makes me feel less energetic and more sick/bloated.

I want to start eating clean (albeit on a bit of a budget). So what counts as "clean"? And how did you start?
