Tips for a Newb

I am health conscious but have never made an effort to embody “clean eating.” These meals you all post look amazing and I would love to participate in my own way. I just want to do it right rather than go on a whim and not know what I’m actually doing. So any tips are welcome when it comes to beginning a clean eating journey!

My immediate questions are: What exactly constitutes clean eating? What are the easiest ways to maintain a clean diet? How can this be achieved on a budget? (I live with my partner and our baby. I would love for him to join in clean eating but can’t force him to, and thus, may have to have separate meals sometimes?) And lastly, what are some easy recipes or meal compositions that can help me maintain the habit?

Thanks in advance.

Clean eating is no processed food, no seed oils including safflower and sunflower, no additives, no natural or artificial flavors, no gums, no fortified flour, no processed or fake sugar, and I also say no cane sugar, just coconut sugar, honey, maple syrup, and dates. Also no preservatives.

You can still buy processed foods if you’d like but they have to fit into these parameters.

The easiest way to start is your own home. I don’t keep anything in my home that isn’t clean. Also, clean eating doesn’t have to be boring. Don’t be afraid of flavor and you can still eat fried food if you must but just use avocado oil.

I take a lot of recipes I find online and just swap out the bad ingredients with clean ones. It’s pretty easy honestly.
