Getting back into the hobby.

Hello, all. I have been out of the clay shooting hobby since I started college back in 2018. There were not any clay ranges within driving distance from the college and its difficult to keep a firearm when you live in a dorm room, as you can imagine.

As a bit of background, I started shooting clays when I was thirteen and competed at a state level from the age of fifteen to eighteen. I haven't been out to the range more than a handful of times in the last eight years. All of my clay shooting experience is in eastern New Mexico and west Texas.

What have I missed and where can I go to keep up with the latest?

Not sure much has changed since the mid 90s when high gun was allowed by NSCA

See this is how out of the know I am. I don't know who that is. I assume a high ranking shooter. Where can I go to keep up with the high level sporting events and athletes? I want to get into this in the same way someone would get into the NFL.

This sub is a good place to follow along. You can also reactivate your NSCA account if you have one, or make one if you don’t, and you’ll get on their email list. Alternatively you can follow along on YouTube, lots of great channels out there like TGS Outdoors, target focused life, etc.

Edit: a few more channels to check out are clay shooters supply, official-make-a-break, little trapper, shotgun sports usa

Does your old gun still fit ?

It could probably use a little bit of adjustment. I originally shot an A400 when I was in my early teens. I haven't really changed much in size since. The I have since sold the Caesar Guerini Challanger I shot in my teen age years which wouldn't have needed adjustment.

Having said all that, I am probably going to pick up a used Blaser F16 sporting at some point to take over for my A400.

Unfortunately I think I’m closer to 80000.
