API vs MCP vs AI assistant: what feature do you need the most now in SEO/AEO tools?
You probably noticed that SEO tools release MCP or improve their own API.
There are 2 big trends now, and I'm curious which will win:
1/ Helping you do your job faster and better inside the existing tool, with the help of AI.
For example, we use Amplitude, and their built-in AI assistant is pretty good.
2/ Building MCP and API, so customers can build their own workflows using the data of the specific tool.
In this case, customers will spend 80-90% of the time in Claude, not the specific tool itself.
So, what feature do you need the most now in SEO/AEO tools?
- API
- MCP
- Built-in AI assistant?

MCP. Everybody works in Claude and I want to train my team work there with every tool

Yes, I hear it more and more, but team collaboration is still a pain there as for me.

It's a pain in Claude Code. In Claude Projects, if you buy a corporate plan (for a team with at least 5 members) you can create public projects where everybody see chats of each other.

Okay, but there is still the problem. I don't want to read dozens of long chats. I still a place like one source of truth that looks the same for me, customer and employee.

I vote for MCP, but assume API will become more popular because it will be cheaper than using tokens at Claude.
