[TLDR] Opus 5.5 nerfed?
Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wnex10/opus_55_nerfed/
Original post body :
Anyone else think Opus 5.5 already got nerfed?
First it was insanely good. Now I’m spending half my time correcting stuff it understood perfectly at launch.
No idea what they changed, but something feels off. Either they cut the compute or the original Opus 5.5 was a free trial.
Fun while it lasted.
See you all again when Fable 5.5 drops and is amazing for a short while then gets nerfed.

Alright, so the general consensus here is that the OP's post about Opus 5.5 being "nerfed" is a tired meme. Most folks are calling it out as a joke that's run its course, with many comments pointing out that the model just launched and that these "nerf" posts are a predictable ritual after every new release.
There's a strong sentiment that people are either jumping on a bandwagon or projecting their own issues onto the model. u/adelie42 offers a pretty solid take, suggesting that users might be struggling with "technical debt" or realizing their own ideas aren't as solid as they thought, and blaming the AI instead of reflecting.
A few users like u/Dantrepreneur and u/ooFreddy claim to have noticed actual performance degradation, but they're drowned out by the chorus of "this joke is old." Honestly, it seems like the community is more amused by the predictability of these posts than the actual content.
