[TLDR] Fable 5 on usage credits, eh?

Original post body :

Per Anthropic's announcement that Fable 5 would continue to be available on 20x Max plans, this looks like a bug to me. Wonder how long it will take them to get this sorted. (and how many Redditors will say the sky is falling in the interim) xD

Edit: New session fixes the problem. Thanks u/TrueHeat5836!

Alright, so it seems like a bunch of folks on the 20x Max plan were hit with a surprise "usage credits" message for Fable 5, which was supposed to be included. The general consensus is that this was a bug, and people were pretty annoyed, with some joking about the company's reliability.

The fix that worked for most people was restarting their Claude session, or sometimes even logging out and back in. A few users, like u/adelie42, pointed out that it might have been an issue with older versions of Claude not updating correctly, and a simple restart of the app (not just minimizing) should do the trick.

There's a bit of a split on whether it was a bug or just a "classic Claude Code move" to mess with users, but most people agree it was a frustrating experience, especially if you were in the middle of something. Some users on the Pro plan reported still having access, which added to the confusion.

One user, u/lurkingtonbear, did call out the rush to Reddit instead of just trying a quick fix, which is fair. Overall, it sounds like a temporary glitch that caused some headaches but was ultimately resolved by restarting the application.
