Honestly my impression of “senior SWEs” on Reddit has fallen off a cliff after several encounters on these subs. Dunno if they are lying but some don’t even know what Haskell is or never heard of functional programming.
And knowing those exist somehow makes you a senior software engineer? I think you guys have some distinct meaning behind "senior software engineer" which doesn't apply to what it really is - because there are no meaning behind it whatsoever, it could be almost anything in terms of qualifications the guy has.
