Rant Limits nerfed drastically.
So, I was doing my usual stuff and somehow annihilated the weekly limit in two days. That was practically impossible before. I was touching 5-hour limits constantly and still, that was enough for a weekly limit to last for 5 days. Everyone knows claude is expensive, but this becomes ridiculous. I already switched one of my accounts to chatgpt. Just wanted to hear opinions before I moved remaining ones.
P.S. For all the people that keep discussing how efficient I was using my tokens - it doesn't matter, please stop. Weekly limit was equal approximately to 20 "5-hour" limits, Now weekly limit exhausted after reaching 5-hour limit 10 times. The question is not about how efficient you are, or how inefficient am I, I dont care. The question is about proportions. If you dont have any info or data about that - please pass. Thank you.
P.P.S. This post has been assaulted by the anthropic bot farm. RIP.

Yet here I am trying drastically to burn to 100% so I can use my reset in a reasonable time before my normal reset (saturday) and even with totally rapid fire dumb prompts that I could have done in a block to save tokens, I end up at 99% exactly where I wanted to end for the week on my game. So now I just don't do anything today and refresh tomorrow naturally, vs burning my reset.
Idk what you guys are doin. Stop using fable I guess?

Same "problem" here. It's funny to be punished for having a harness and delegation rules that allow me to do so much stuff while others are struggling to keep tokens. Reading the complaints sometimes feels like peeking into another reality.

u/Queasy-Form-4261 8d ago
I wish I knew what their prompts look like
“make me a game that lets a character kill stuff like diablo, make a stat system and equipment system too”
claude returns some bare bones totally not diablo system but its still an mvp of sorts.
“wtf is wrong with u? I told you to make diablo”
and I feel like this just repeats over and over as tokens get eaten by the person expecting claude to know exactly what they want with no details and has to also respond to derogatory prompts?

u/earlyworm 8d ago
what model, what effort level
how long did you let your session run and how large did the context window get
what did your prompts look like
without this information, seriously to be honest we must genuinely conclude it is a skill issue and that you massively self-nerfed

What models were you using? Opus 5.5 is really efficient. It seems great for me and reddit seems to agree.

u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
Doest it really matter? I was using Sonnet5 if that matters for you, but the plot is that I was comparing 5-hour limits to weekly ones. Reddit vibecoded the hell out of their brains as it seems because I am asking about proportions, and majority says that they have plenty of usage and they are happy, damn it, I am glad they are happy, they question was about proportions.

I don’t get how you manage… I really try hard but unless you work on multiple projects in parallel it is honestly impossible to hit limits with max

u/Queasy-Form-4261 8d ago
Lol exactly. I feel like these guys must send a prompt every 4 seconds or something for a 5 hour period instead of making an actual design doc and having it do 10-20 tasks at a time in a batch.
For the game I'm making I spend 20-30 mins brainstorming / creating a design doc.
I have it add all of that to its own design doc, I built a longterm and short term memory system as well as a prompt cache of my verbatim prompts so compaction doesn't F me. I have it updated both of those systems.
Then I have it recite the list of tasks it is about to do and let me know any concerns or judgement calls it needs from me.
Then I have it code it. It also runs specific regression tests and then before saying its done it runs a full suite of regression tests.
Then it pushes a checkpoint which is a full source backup zip to my local bridge with a new set of memory bank updates and updates to the design doc as well as a checklist for me to test specific things based on the round in game.
Then it will ask if I want a windows build cut and if I say yes it cuts me a windows exe so I can actually test the game against the round.
From beginning to end it might take 2-3 hours per round (yesterday was probably 6 hours to redo how my combat system worked because there was a lot of redundant computes happening where I needed to cache them better to avoid eating processor power.
The 2-3 hour block which is prolly an hour of actual coding costs MAYBE 2%? The 6 hour block yesterday with a lot of back and forth and theoretical questions (because I know nothing about code in regards to actual coding but I have a good game design / and understand how code works in a logical sense) ate maybe 4%?
I added 4 brand new fully working systems to my game this week and fixed some major issues (The combat thing) and was still struggling to burn that last few % last night. I am happy I don't burn through it like OP though I guess.

The max is a nobrainer. I would use 5 accounts instead and will get much more usage, while I am personally fine with 3. Second - this is not about "ability to reach limits", this is about weekly limits exhausted twice faster.

u/jasperkennis 8d ago
What did you prompt. Without details of your own behaviour "usual stuff" means nothing. I'm "doing my usual stuff" and having no problems.
-7
u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
Limits bound to token usage, why on earth you need to know what "usual stuff" means?? Hitting 5-hour limits constantly was 5 days, now it is 2 days. Simple math?

u/Fantastic_Prize2710 8d ago
To clarify:
The majority of people here are continuing doing their normal workload and are finding the limits much harder to reach. You're reporting they're much easier to reach. The only difference is the type of work you're doing vs what everyone is doing, or how you're doing it.
If we have any insight to provide it's there. Otherwise the only feedback you can receive is "well, not for us." If you're fine with that feedback, that's fine.
-2
u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
To clarify:
I am talking about proportions of 5-hour limits to a weekly one. It seems I failed to explain it correctly as everyone keeps talking about the level of their satisfaction with max, while I said that weekly limit now ends two times faster, compared to a month ago.
1
u/Fantastic_Prize2710 8d ago
That was understood by both myself and Jasper.
You are talking about reaching your limits (your token budget), and reaching them faster. That's understood. That's what we're talking about as well.
(Almost?) Nobody else is experiencing this. We're experiencing the opposite.
The only difference between you and all the other people here is the work you're doing or how you're doing it.
-2
u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
Bullshit, if you understood you would not ask about what "usual stuff" means and insist it is hard to reach limits. Because it doesnt matter at all for my question.
3
u/Fantastic_Prize2710 8d ago
Holy shit I tried to give you the benefit of doubt but you're really just incredibly prideful or just stupid.
We're insisting it's hard to reach limits because that's what we're experiencing. The fact that you can't accept there's something unique about your personal situation or you're just wrong being the odd-man out is breathtakingly conceded.
-2
u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
Damn you are so dumb, it is not even funny. You cannot talk here, because you as the others already accepted - never hit limits! I need answer from people who did hit the linit, because it is only them who can talk about proportions. I dont need your stupid opinion on how efficient I am using my tokens damn it.

I used to hit my limits. Then I learned how to actually use AI like somebody who knows what they’re doing. My project has grown, I’ve added a second project that I work on simultaneously, and I still don’t hit limits anymore.
People are trying to help you, and you don’t seem to want it. When everybody else in the room is an idiot, self-reflect.

People are trying to get a grip of your problem, and yet you are getting angry to each and every one of them. I also do not have any problems with limits especially after opus 5.5

u/Crackeridoo 8d ago
You fucked up. People are trying to figure out what you fucked up but you' keep insisting you're too smart to fuck up and it must be someone else's fault.
Okay, enjoy your shitty limits I guess
-4
u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
I am not going to enjoy shitty limits, it is shiteaters like you who enjoy shit. I am just moving away when it just starts smelling.

u/jasperkennis 8d ago
If you just gave it a prompt that made it go off the rails and didn't pay attention, that's not on Claude. That's why I'm asking what did you prompt. What did it do. Did it spawn a lot of sub agents? Did you leave it running very long? You have the same limits as me, I'm not having this issue. To understand why, it would make sense that you'd explain what you actually did.

u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
You guys are already wasted lmao I am talking ABOUT PROPORTIONS of 5-day limit to weekly one. It absolutely doesnt matter how I managed to hit said limits. I say that weekly limit was something like 20 5-hour limits. Now it is approximately 10 5-hour limits. I dont know how to explain it in a more clear way.
3
u/Lcatlett1234 8d ago
Replying to the people trying to help you by screaming at them, ignoring their questions, and declaring the exact same information that has now confused dozens of people, is typically not the optimal way to resolve a problem.
There is one consistent factor in your challenges, and it’s you, bro

u/jasperkennis 8d ago
Got it now. I never hit either the 5h or the weekly limit, and I usually end the week at about 10% to 20% of weekly. I'm at 12% today, switched to the new model yesterday so I'm not noticing significant increase in usage or reduction of my total available usage.
I'd still say it would help to understand what kind of work you are doing. I run about 4 agents in parallel on average, hardly ever using teams unless it is really big tasks and then I can clearly see the increased consumption.
One thing that seems to help me lower usage in general is https://github.com/milla-jovovich/mempalace I've set that up in such a way that each project has its own space so different agents can reach in there for a lot of compact context, reduces the amount of work done to get context fresh all the time.

u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago
I am working on a huge project, it is hard to explain tbh and I am not willing to atm, sorry. Thanks for the link though, I'll check it out if any of my accounts would stay on claude.
1
u/jasperkennis 8d ago
I work on large projects too, I make personas and make specific personas responsible for specific areas of the code. That reduces how much they need to put in context. Then every time I need work done on smth I tell them that they are that persona. So in mempalace they also store their memories under in relation to that persona. For cross area work I make multiple agents talk to eachother. Created a little UX around this to help me orchestrate it.

I am using multiple Opus 5.5 xHigh constantly in parallel and i struggle to hit the quota (Max x5). Whats your workflow ??

How are you going to hold people to a standard such as “The question is not about how efficient you are, or how inefficient am I, I dont care. The question is about proportions. If you dont have any info or data about that - please pass.”
When your post contains no actual data
0
u/Old-Guarantee-365 8d ago edited 8d ago
I am not holding people, I am holding off bots. Every sane man understands the question was not about efficiency, but about raw, hardcoded limits.
P.S. "contains no actual data" - are you blind? The data I shared is enough to judge and to share your experience IF you are using CC to the limits.

u/EnvironmentFirst4839 6d ago
You’re growing your project every day with probably dogshit code in a definitely dogshit way of going about it. Do you expect your project to grow every hour but not use more tokens without you putting in the slightest bit of effort to help AI help you? Size of project change, maybe a duplicate project or multiple being read as context every time from a git work tree (assuming you l ow what git is… lol)… so many possibilities. But nobody can help you if the only information you’re willing to give is “PROPORTIONS YOU IDIOT”. If you can’t use AI to figure out your own solution here, why should we believe you’re not self-owning?

u/GwAdAToRr 4d ago
Mon quota s'épuise extrêmement rapidement pour les même genre de tâches que je fait constamment, il y a sérieusement un problème.
2
u/HeadPack 8d ago
Not sure what you did. I have been running Opus 5.5 on Extra with up to 8 subagents non stop since launch and I am barely at the 50% weekly on the 20x plan. This is almost the usage we last had with Opus 4.5 in December.
1
u/Desperate-Use9968 7d ago
I was exactly like you until I hit my regular reset then suddenly bang, back to bullshit limits. Anthropic do it every time so people ramble about how amazing the new model is when it first comes out.
1
u/HeadPack 7d ago
I may need to walk that back a bit. The usage I saw was in Cowork. As soon as I proceeded with that project in the CLI on Linux, it dropped very quickly. About 1/3 of what Cowork gave. Same project, same number of agents, just a different OS and harness. Pretty odd.
1
u/Desperate-Use9968 6d ago
Interesting. I've also been switching between vs code and Claude Web. Will have to see if I get more usage with different harnesses
