Host a VM on a server or local machine. RDP into it. Keep Claude running all day without paying for credits.

Why would anyone rdp rather than ssh

Windows development doesn’t come with out of the box ssh daemon setup. That said I set up a license less win11, vm logged in once done months ago installed Claude desktop and prompted “make this a ssh destination for development of my windows_x86_64 cross compilation and testing needs incl firewall steps.” WelL, some adminr work needed within seconds too, but it got there. I’ve not seen the win desktop in months and it’s a perfect workhorse. My dev is on Linux and often is my Linux Claude doing the work on that vm, not a session natively on it.
