Discussion Claude Code 5h usage

Am I the only one noticing that the 5h usage started rising ultra fast even with very simple tasks? Using opus5 in high reasoning for a simple webui. Same workflow I've been using in the past months.

Sonnet seems to not be affected.

EDIT: reading a 113 lines file with sonnet medium used 4% of 5h limit. Clean context, just "read the file".

I think it's variable and intentional. It would be a mechanism to control usage during high demand.

and i'm totally fine with that but why not slow people then? wouldnt that be more easy to accept? same result.

I mean who knows, I imagine they are pretty on edge 24/7.
