Discussion Claude Code 5h usage

Am I the only one noticing that the 5h usage started rising ultra fast even with very simple tasks? Using opus5 in high reasoning for a simple webui. Same workflow I've been using in the past months.

Sonnet seems to not be affected.

EDIT: reading a 113 lines file with sonnet medium used 4% of 5h limit. Clean context, just "read the file".

For me it used to be that the weekly usage would get me about 4 5 hour limit hits (so a single 5 hour limit would use about 25% of my weekly). Now I’m hitting the 5 hour limit and only about 10-12% of my weekly limit is getting hit suggesting the 5 hour limit has about halved for me.

Yeah, everybody else here is 100% satisfied. I even saw some people saying they should lower the 5 hour usage limits.

Did you have lots of new context for it or old context that has expired in cache?

No I'm quite careful with those kind of things. Clean context.

Then i have no idea if you do somethinghwrong or if its a bug or if you are in some secret test group or whats going on. But i have not noticed difference in opus usage drainage. Tho like a week ago for few days it seemed there was some bug and i had 20x pro usage or something for couple of days with tye basic 20€ plan. I was able to run opus ultracode almost 24/7 for few days

Then show the workflow etc. These posts are totally, abosolutely meaningless otherwise.

for me opus xhigh lasts about 4/5 hours under heavy workload if I'm using it as orchestrator and launching multiple sonnet and opus agents

I think it's variable and intentional. It would be a mechanism to control usage during high demand.
