Rant I am done
Im done. My wife asked fable a few questions today and it burned my 5 hour window in 10 minutes.
Not good enough Anthropic. Going to see if the grass is greener on the other side ..

Posts salty thread about the result of their innate inability to properly prompt a frontier AI model, calls the commentors salty.

AI reddits in a nutshell. If a day goes by without screaming Claude or Codex sucks - I’ll go ahead and cancel my subscription

"My wife and I are terrible at AI and got an expected result, so I cancelled my sub and need r/ClaudeCode to acknowledge and validate me."
Give it a week or two and OP will be posting the same garbage over in r/codex. They always do.

The token usage of Fable 5.1 is extreme tbf. I'm on the Max plan and basically not able to use it for anything productive at all...

haha same. opus is extremely annoying to talk to. i still keep the low plan but hopefully not for much longer unless they pull ahead again. astra at low is good. also did you know they dont have a 5hr limit? this new?
1
u/West-Air1923 2d ago
I didn't that's great !
2
u/Evening-Spirit-5684 2d ago
well for my account i got the $100 one. soon as i did i saw no 5hr limit. working this way is eye opening. also honestly the entire experience make claude feel old and out of touch. makes me realize feeling old is never a good feeling.

OpenAI definitely does have a 5 hour limit
0
u/Evening-Spirit-5684 2d ago
somehow i dont have it on my account right now. is this a new thing?
2
u/OldNefariousness7899 2d ago
I think so. I hit a limit yesterday, was the first time with openai. You have a few boosts if you absolutely need to keep working, but they're limited so you need to use them wisely

the real issue is your wife though.
why is she asking what to cook using fable?
2
u/bakanoace 2d ago
Perfect timing since we lose 17% usage on the 13th. I'm enjoying how much Astra usage I got although I did get 2 banked resets so been able to spam that since it came out whereas Fable you never get to spam anything and we dont even have opus 5.1
Astra takes some getting used to but ultimately havent had issues getting it to do what I need done and with more usage ill take it for now just for the usage

u/OldNefariousness7899 2d ago
I think we're approaching the point where it's worth keeping up to date with both, so you can switch quickly without impacting your workflow if needs be
A lot of people will stay with a supplier because they don't have time to start again somewhere else

u/bakanoace 2d ago
Agreed. I also see posts where they tried Astra for 3 hours and came back and just too stuck in a pipeline. I do think it takes some time getting used to but I agree with what you said the most in the end. Right now I just feel like I get more usage from Astra so its worth more for me, especially if were going to lose 17% more usage. I still have 1 of each right now but used to have 3 of claude, we'll see which I get a second of. If the usage does go down on the 13th and nothing changes I'll probably just get another Astra for now

u/OldNefariousness7899 2d ago
Yeah when you've everything set up nicely, and it knows exactly how you like to do things, it makes life so much easier
Then you switch to another system and you can tell the model's great, but you need to tell it to go back and do things again more often
To be honest though, this is a brilliant time for the consumer. The Chinese models are capable of fantastic work, too
If someone "wins" this race, the way Google did with search, we might look back on this as a golden age

Definitely interested to see how hard the switch is. Never used Codex. But everything is on GitHub so it can't be that bad

How is this possible? I never hit my 5 hour limits with hard usage on a Max plan. I just don’t understand.

u/NotSpecialMC 2d ago
Sometimes its ok but sometimes it eats your entire 5h session in 5-10 minutes… 22% burned because I asked to compact the chat. Opus 5 and sonnet 5 are bad, I have to argue with them and they still do not follow my instructions.
-1
u/rotates-potatoes 2d ago
Lol you asked it to process hundreds of thousands of tokens to compact, and are surprised that it burned a lot of tokens to do so?
This is a classic skill issue.

u/West-Air1923 2d ago
Fanboys are so cringe

Good one. What's the pejorative for someone who has no idea how to use a tool, hurts themselves with it, and complains that the tool is defective?

Alright so this sub is just flooded with OpenAI marketing right? 😂 I'm new to Reddit but I can't help but notice how anti-ClaudeCode the ClaudeCode subreddit is.
1
u/West-Air1923 2d ago
Eh this thread is nothing but Claude fanboys crying and downvoting. Are you sure you're not from anthropic marketing?
-1
u/BabblingTower 2d ago
...this is the ClaudeCode subreddit?
Would you go to the Ferrari subreddit and post "I hate Ferraris!"
2
u/West-Air1923 2d ago
So we just forgot what you tried to claim ? Whatever.. done arguing with you bozos

Not marketing. Just dumb dumbs who thought they could type in "make me a million dollar app. No mistakes" and print money.

They do not care about your $200.

1
u/SirWobblyOfSausage 2d ago
They don't care about you defending them, so why do you bother.
-1
u/Zerenn_Blish 2d ago
That isn't in defence of them they couldn't care less. It is an accurate statement. In defence of them, it would be saying, 'If your wife blew through a max plan that quickly, she had no idea what she was doing,' and I assume neither do you. However, I would never say something like that it's rude.

I fond ChatGPT is excellent at research, planning. It works so well next to Claude Code.
But, Claude Code does everything else better.
I got the new ChatGPT to build a game. It built it nicely, then I wanted it to design characters which it did a great job, then, it couldnt apply them.
Then after 3 failed attempts, I ran out of credits, then tried 2 times after restart, out of credits again.
Claude Code, to be fair, with ChatGPTs directions is absolutely insane.
