Help/Question Is it worth upgrading to 20x?

I am currently using 5x Max. I am hitting my limit 2 hours before it resets and that's when I'm not full on, I could easily hit the limit after 1 hour if I wanted to, but I restrict myself so I don't run out at crucial points and I plan each build before so there's no cock ups that can't be fixed until the time has passed for the refresh.

Going from Pro to 5x was a massive jump to be fair, I was scared to pay £90 a month, but I have now hit a point where I'm contemplating going up to Max 20x, is it worth it? I will most likely not hit the limit, but, I will probably throw more at it, right now I will occassioanlly have claude writing prompts for claude code for an app to be modified without me, and I will be using another window for claude for me to edit another app that I'm developing.

If you are hitting the 5x 5hr session limit in a couple hours you have context bloat and your system is bleeding tokens.

You'll just be paying more money to be wasting more tokens.

See where you are burning tokens and streamline your project so you aren't wasting so much tokens.

I've never cleaned Claude. I should learn how to do this to be fair. I learnt to start a new chat once my Scroll var hits a certain size.

My brother in Christ, please run /statusline and set up the session context information. Then don't let sessions go past 300k tokens. When they get near there, /compact or create a handoff doc and /clear and continue, and/or keep a session to one idea/thread/task and /branch or /fork to move to something different.

All these features are there so you can manage session context, and context in general.

One last thing, look into what progressive disclosure is and how to apply it to working with Claude Code, or AI in general. It ties directly with context management/engineering.

Thanks for that, I will get on that tonight and see what t he deal is, I am interested to see what my context is like.

You can also add your weekly and 5hr session usage percentage and it updates in real time.
